I managed to transform MP-44 today. Overall, the transformation is okay, nothing to scary. I feel that it might have been achieved with a few less moving parts, but that's okay.

Unfortunately, I have to report two issues:

1) The left leg has no outward ratcheting. I have disassambled the leg: On side of the ratchet is completely missing.
2) The left truck side is a bit warped so that it cannot align straight. I am actually not 100% sure what the issue is. I believe the joint on which you have to rotate the side is not completely straight so that when it is in truck position the gas tank is about 3mm too far out.

On the bright side, no paint issues  . And I have tried the knees - they seem to be working fine.

I bought it through Amazon and I actually don't want to return it, because it seems to be in a pretty good shape. Can they (or someone else) provide a replacement ratchet? I'd even pay for it.

And finally a possibbly silly question: To use any of the waist articulation (turn, bend forward/sidewards), I have to disengage the upper body again?

 

Wow. That’s bad. Worst than my missing matrix chamber pin. At least the pin can be replaced.

 

and to top it off amazon Japan wants me to pay out of pocket to return it.

 

They do reimburse you for shipping, iirc.

I used dhl which AMZ JP requested. It has a hassle getting the forms online. I ended calling dhl support and they walked me through it. You have to fill up some forms and declare the value and type. It s been a while. You may be able to ship it using your local post office. Just check with AMZ via chat. They speak English.

 

I am happy to provide more pictures if they want haha I am so tired and pissed off... sigh. Waited since December for this.

Somebody at the assembly level was sleeping on his job!

 

He’s a beautiful figure but I’m considering returning it for a refund and waiting for Takara to issue a fix for all of the other existing issues before I get a replacement. I am going to sleep on it. I don’t want to spend $325 twice on something broken out of the box.
