I meant that if it was retail/non TTM, Big Convoy would be cheaper on Amazon JP than whatever the retail price would be on TTM.

Probably not wording this right, but MP -20+ Wheeljack I paid 6,737 yen. Not sure how much MP + Prowl or Streak were, but I'm assuming MP + are cheaper if they were retail releases on Amazon JP.

Yeah I got that one off Amazon JP. Was a glimmer of hope, but oh well. I'll probably suck it up and get this.

 

Thing is, he has both style feet. I watched the last episode where he uses this gun and you can barely make out that the mammoth feet extend out like that. Must be part of this "power up" mode.

It's TakaraTomy Mall Exclusive, so it's not going to be available as regular Japanese release that you can get from AJ or HLJ and no 20-30% discounts unfortunately.

Yeah, the Matrix gimmick is a total win for me. I doubted a bit for the price and quality, but since I have the original release I can keep the best of the two. Great toy indeed!

For fucks sake. This should've been one package, not a redeco and then accessories for said redeco sold with another version of the same mold. At least give another figure from BWN the Encore-treatment and include the accessories for Big Convoy with that one.

 

I saw that too. They should've not of said that and left it as it was intended to come with this newer version as a cash grab. I commend them for being honest about it.

As an alternate to your suggestion, offer the weapons separately and for sale. Not everyone is going to get the next figure so it doesn't exclude other fans as well.

Some notes about the interview:

-Anime colors was released to align with the Beast Wars Masterpieces.
-Anime colors didn't get the Matrix Buster because that would've been too expensive and they weren't certain the market could support the price and having a release in anime colors was prioritized.
-To help recoup the costs of updating the mold to current times, Blue Big Convoy was released.
-The Matrix Buster was originally planned back in 1999 as a weapon against the planet-sized Unicron and was connected to Big Convoy's "prosthetic" left arm, but since the Unicron toy was dropped, the story was changed and a Matrix Buster edition of Big Convoy was never made.
-Since Blue Big Convoy and Anime Colors Big Convoy were popular, they were able to afford making the Matrix Buster, and they also wanted to reissue the original toy colors.​

Cool that this was something they wanted to do back in 1999 but were unable to until now.
