I contacted NY via live chat and they said they would send it ASAP. That was 2 days ago and it hasn't been sent. If it gets to 7 days Im just gonna put a dispute with Paypal and get my money back. After reading through this thread I'm no longer enthusiastic about MP-44 and all its QC flaws. In all honesty I can't believe people are willing to accept and swallow the broken knees and other issues as A-OK. Its like buying a first class plane ticket and getting seated in cattle class...

Anyhoo, cancelled my preorders for MP Bee V2 and MP Hound. Takara is so mediocre now.

 

Amazon Japan just informed me that my replacement MP44 was shipped and on its way. Looking forward to seeing if it's any better than my first one with the knee defects. Crossing my fingers!

 

Great review ! Also showing exactly how those knee bends will help out a lot . To think , this could all be user error when you get down to it . Glad to see your copy is pretty much flawless.

 

I'm still wrestling with cancelling my pre orders as well. The thing about the toon accurate aesthetic Takara is taking the MP line to is that paint flaws are way more noticeable with these colors/paint scemes. I'm so excited for MP Hound and Smokescreen+, but now, I'm kinda worried that we'll get the same QC issues. I WILL own MP 44, but I may wait for the 2nd run, or worst case I'll wait for the toy deco + version thats surely to come. By then hopefully they iron out most of these issues

 

Expect some mold degradations with WJ, Lambo bros and the Datsun guys. They've been pressed like gazillion times now.

If you're unsure I think its better to wait and pick up Mp Hound/V2 Bee after release and after its been road tested by the community . You might pay a bit more but at least you'll know if there are any glaring issues.

 

Great point. I gotta say its so cool how everyone IS working together and sharing notes to fix the knee issue, and basically figured out a solution within 2 days. I'm just shocked at the apparent ratio of people claiming they have defective MP 44s. This is the first time I've pre ordered an MP figure, so I'm not sure if this many QC claims is the norm, but the concensus here seems to be that between the chipped paint and broken knees this is a widespread QC issue.

I have 32 mps. only two have issues (MP-10 and BW Convoy) its like 7% out of 100%. 93% no issues.

 

Indeed! All the great pics everyones posting have me leaning toward saying screw it and getting both my pre orders. 10 months to a year seems a bit long to wait for a 2nd run of this guy.

 

I don’t know, but it seems that without that tab to slide in the ratchet stays put. Since I never intended to sell mine, I’ll be doing it.
