Here's what's so ridiculous about it

They actually pay factory workers in China/Vietnam/etc to produce a product. Whereas, we pay 335/450 to fix a product.
And I thought the sharing economy is a piece of neoliberal bullcrap.

325 is still close to half a grand only 175 off but that's fine, I still stand by for that money the last thing I want to do is fix something that was literally just released, they should have worked that stuff out

good enjoy him then, i'll wait down to road and he's not a must buy for me

Why didn’t they just do that in the first place? What was the point in having the upper thigh unlock the ratchet upon contact. I’m sure there was design table reason. But people are already modding the hell out of this. Bend the knee in the right order, you’re golden. Bend the knee in the wrong order, you just screwed up your $500 MP.

^^ What @KayODave said. I would also make sure the entire knee assembly is tabbed together really well after transformation, especially on both sides of the knee, as I think this can only help ensure the sliding tab doesn't wander away from its track, and maybe helps relieve some pressure on the joint.

Hopefully you get it cheaper by then than I'd gotten it at this time, and without the issues that the others here were currently experiencing nowadays.

I have 74 optimus primes from 1984 til last week so he's not a must buy on the list, he is a beautiful toy but I can wait. I have a feeling the second run might fix some issues people are having.

Actually if someone is in California the total price of this thing is 325/335 + 24 bucks.

Wait? Where did that 24 bucks come from? I reckon someone who is really bad with fixing stuff (me for example) might take two hours disassembling and reassembling things back. And since I am in California, the minimum wage is 12 bucks per hour.

I am calling my local Union to complain!!!!

    You are wrong!!! I am sure, bloody sure that 325/335 + 24 bucks = 32524 bucks/33524 bucks. That's just Math 101 man!!!

Don't make me whip out my Calculus book.

Such a controversial piece. I understand people's complaints about the transformation but honestly, I hope Takara doesn't stop trying to push the envelope. Literally no other big toy company is going anywhere near what they're doing engineering-wise. Some might say this piece is overengineered and I disagree - you literally have a toy where it's vehicle mode and robot mode look nothing alike. Really reminds of a Studio Half-Eye piece (which retails for hundred's to thousands of dollars). If you ever handled them, those things are scary to transform. It's just the nature of small, non-metal parts and precise movements.

Funny, I found MP44’s transform easier than MP36’s.
I agree, pushing the envelope is the only way to keep the line fresh and interesting. Imagine if we got another op that didn’t do anything different than the previous iterations.
As my 5 year old likes to say these days, “BORING!”

Just transformed mine for the first time. Man what a trip, just amazing in my opinion. Thankfully so far mine has zero knee issues and no flaws that I can see. I’m super happy with this. Before I go to bed I had to snap this photo because little kid me in the 1980’s would of never believed something like these figures would of been created.

If I\'m going to invest over $500 bucks on a figure, it better be damn near 100% flawless!

I never got an Optimus as a kid for the holidays, but I have a pretty good idea now what it must have felt like:)
