Zeta is pretty bad in that aspect . I have no idea how many mg 2.0’s vfin I’ve seen break . I just pop the head off whenever I transform mine not sure on the vintage model but the 2.0 is definitely a concern.

I remember thinking MP-01 was complicated, at least when compared to G1 prime.

I don't think MP-44 is overly complicated. What Takara achieved in this figure is incredible.

I just wish my voice box worked :(

    ...Well actually yeah.

Complex transformation = high parts count
Higher parts count = More manufacturing costs
More manufacturing costs = Higher MSRP

10 year old me is quite happy...
44 year old me is ecstatic! When I played with those g1 toys, in my head this is what they looked like. Still can't believe this is a reality. MP 44 is just stunning in hand. The gloss of the paint just outclasses every other figure on my shelf. Bring on Bumblebee and Hound! What a way to end the year for G1 collectors.

@BrutiKing I am correct that you mentioned you're returning yours to AJ? And you're in Canada?

How much is the shipping and what date does it have to arrive there by?

    I think it’s overcomplicated.
The thing that bothered me the most about MP-01 was the fake grill and the headlight flaps covering the ends of the arms seemed like kind of a cheat. This one has the fake grill too, plus fake gas tanks and fake roof lights. And, despite supposedly being toon-accurate, his iconic transformation scheme has given way to exploding into plastic hamburger and then re-assembling.

I also am using a brand new pack of Energizer and having issues. Hmmm, maybe I'll steal some from Dinobot and Beast Wars Megatron and test

There's no way bending/curving antenna and breakable knee parts wouldn't have been seen with a thorough and final qc check. I would've taken a delay for this thing if it could guarantee near spotless qc. The messy nub marks were something I was expecting but not the antenna and knee stopper breakages.

This thing really needed a very thorough qc check at the factory level before final production WITH all paint applied and made to whatever specs were set for final production. Without getting into this further, Takara isn't the only Japanese company kind of skipping ahead to meet demand and maximize initial sales, I hate to say.

October 12th, shipping estimate is $520 cad...

I would recommend mr hobby, it has both lacquers and acrylic lines. I airbrushed a lacquer coat on my MP-36, and it has yet to paint scuff.

I refuse to believe any fix is necessary for the greatest figure ever made. I mean, this version of Prime is the supreme masterpiece. It is the pinnacle of collectible toy design, construction and engineering! This is the greatest Transformer ever produced! How dare these people scratch its paint and break its knees with their incompetence! They should pay Takara Tomy's asking price twice as a form of penitence! You wretched fools, how dare you harm the greatest, most amazing, best value for money collectible ever made?!

I got him! I'm kind of afraid to open and transform it with all of the complaints of knees not ratcheting, loose legs and parts chipping off. For what we paid, we shouldn't have to fix or mod anything. *crosses fingers*

I figured out how to use the control tower as a stand! Dunno why they didn't include this in the instructions...

You can take the cockpit section off by flipping the panel in the back down, then pulling the whole cockpit UP. The panel then becomes the adapter that attaches to Optimus. There is a slot that it fits into Optimus' tail/butt.

Then, in order to secure the stand, you select the angle of the adapter section, and slide a button on the stand upwards, locking the adapter into place, which in theory should support the figure!

Although it took some doing (the adapter likes to come loose if you go for precarious poses), I got some good results.
Also, the adapter can turn, and the stand obviously reaches higher. The adapter "lock" tends to come loose though, so YMMV.
