So you're purposefully trying to throw the thread off topic with purposeful spreading incorrect facts?

They've always been one of my top fav companies so I hope they're here to stay. They just need to figure a way to get back in the game (like, finish off those headmasters and get that galaxy convoy out imo xD)

I'll start worrying when Maketoys stops posting on their social media pages.

You and me both. Mine are all stored away in a plastic bin. They were SO CLOSE to finishing...

At least the Dinobots got finished (well, the core team plus the girls, there were others planned that never happened.)

Hope not. But if they are done I tip my hat to them and thank them for all the great figures they put out.

I don't know if Maketoys is done or not, but I'm done with them. My perfectly sculpted Starscream takes pleasure in seeing off the lot of my MT seekers. Why did they drop the ball on a great chance to offer uniquely styled great looking heads for their Seekers? Why contract out Solarflare to another factory and take the massive QC hit?! I'm gladly waiting for 3.0 TT Seekers now whenever it comes.

Contactshot is by far the best figure they put out imo. He is rock solid and transformation is smooth. He definitely has a fun factor to him. I'm really hoping they follow through with finishing up their headmasters/targetmasters

I got him this week. He's too skinny. He should be shorter and wider. Nicely made though.

I’ve said it before, but I feel their current situation reflects the fact that their products have continuously been KO’d and, more recently, issues with the fansproject factory.

The issues between Spence and Fansproject revealed a lot, and maybe those issues have resulted in Maketoys having to shop around for a new factory to produce figures. That could explain the wait for new figures, since they’d have to fit into the new factory’s schedule. It would also explain the QC issues if the new factory is inexperienced.

Fans toys will put out the entire head masters / target masters line before Maketoys gets back to theirs it seems. Its crazy....... why not just crowdfund crosshairs , sureshot, highbrow , and Brainstorm... they absolutely would get funded.... But then again word around a few months ago was that they were still working out things with highbrow and brainstorm and were definitely going to be putting them out eventually.

as for cross dimension........ not shocked to hear they didnt sell well...... such a small niche set of designs....

From piecing together a few streams of information, I think this best reflects the MT saga:
What happens when you invest in creating a new line like CD and it doesn't drive as much demand as expected and your headmasters were very expensive for their time, is you might mistake the lack of demand to be reflective of overall demand for all TF 3P products and you lose interest in putting your capital toward more TF products when there are other more attractive opportunities out there to pursue.

Once capital gets redirected to those other ventures, it's no longer there to use to produce previously announced MTRM figures. Instead, the funding of those future MTRM figures has to come from the sales of the last MTRM figure released, which means there's less of it and it takes longer to accrue.

So the seekers came out slower than they would have, and the repaints were even sent to crowdfund so the revenue from the first three seekers could partially fund those repaints and partially start to accrue for the funding of the first conehead, which also takes longer as a result.

And then perhaps each conehead funds the next conehead, and the last one funds the first of the remaining headmasters, and so on. Barring an influx of capital from other ventures specifically being directed to the coneheads or headmasters, I don't see how they could speed up the production of those figures.

I hope they do turn their focus back to those five figures (3 coneheads, 2 headmasters). I think what it would take for that to happen is for them to crowdfund the first of the remaining headmasters and see it get very strong backing quickly. Naturally that depends on them pricing it affordably and convincing buyers they are going to deliver it and it will be high quality, but those caveats aside, if hypothetically it was backed extremely well, I could see them rethinking plans and directing capital toward doing the other headmaster more quickly, and consider testing the waters with another targetmaster as well, perhaps as a crowdfund.
    All just hypothetical, but plausible.
