Do you have to unpeg the torso to get more than a minimal amount of waist swivel?

No not at all. For them to have the balls to proudly make the most expensive MP and be proud of it, there should at least be basic functionality.

Not gonna lie, a $500 officially licensed figure shouldn't need modifications for basic function.

Really disappointed and I wanted to get this figure soon :\

Unfortunately, all it would result in is an improve second run. They don't do like 3rd Party and offer replacement parts...at least not if you're outside of Japan...

I took it oit of the box...he's sure pretty. I suck at transforming really complex ones. Mp10 was super easy. I started on this one and stopped after part of one leg and put it back to truck mode. I think I need to find a better transformation vid. Sometimes its hard to see a good view of the part.

This is probably the one thing I miss about collecting 3rd party. There are some companies that are pretty good about supplying replacement parts to remedy issues. It's sometimes better than that lengthy song and dance where you have to send your original back and wait a few weeks for some kind of turnaround.

I used Wotafa. No idea what he's saying but it's easy to follow him.

Mine was in the box. Just came with it.

Yeah theres no excuse for this. Shame on you Takara for not QC testing properly. $400 for a figure that breaks as quickly as a KO. No one can defend this. Takara failed. Period.

Agreed and I do own it. Seems the continuation of these types of QC issues follows from Dinobot and BW Megatron.

A thought, are they using stronger plastics on the prototypes, and weaker on the realease versions?

No worries man, it’s what I get for being a braggart heheh. ;)  I appreciate the support though!

It is an unfortunate thing, but I still love the figure immensely - I won’t have time to do it for at least another 7 hours or so, but I’m glad we have the likes of @BrutiKing and @Jarrod here to share their talents with us, otherwise I’d probably feel a little differently.
