To be honest, I think the yellow itself is gloss too. make sure to mask the surrounding area when spraying. It would be best if you topcoated the whole figure anyways.

Indeed, in fact I accidentally pulled off a pretty good example of that window reflectiveness:

Since I'm replacing my MP-44, I can conduct some "experiments" with my current MP-44 if some people are interested. I will be colour matching paint, and testing topcoats. The grey is semi metallic, so I will be posting a mixture for that. I will also disassemble to determine the best way to top coat for you guys. Let me know what else you are interested in, and I'll see what I can do.

A video seriously cleared up all my questions on how to know without taking it apart. Thanks!

Didn’t want to take it apart to just see and then have to nearly s#!t myself trying to put it back together while my bank account and my responsible adult conscience breathe down my back

Nice. It'd be great if 3P or a fan could find a material film that duplicates it that could be put on the older releases.

I’m not too bothered about the grey if it’s not on his movie face, but I want to protect the yellow waist parts and the chrome on faux abs. If you could help that’d be great

Mine finally shipped by TFS Express UK. I'm still excited but less than last week unfortunately, feeling sad for the too many people who had issues with their mp-44 and pretty nervous before receiving mine ...

I did exchange about it with TFS Express and this was their reply:

    "Hi Rogerimus,
Three is quite a lot discussion on the forum about the knee "issue", it is actually not an issue, you can find more details from some threads. We will try to find it and post it on our facebook as well.

    Regards,
    TFs Express Customer Service"

    ...

    ps crossing my fingers hard

Since I may be trying to match the white on the Autobot symbol tampo that would of course be helpful, but don't go to any trouble, I know that's a tricky area! And probably doesn't even matter if it matches perfectly for such a tiny dot come to think of it. But thanks for whatever you do!

I don't think people judge figures entirely on esthetics. In my book though, looking good and clean takes priority over panels galore and kibble just so he can suck his own sparkplug. My humble opinion

They are indeed. Here's Starscream with his new noggin. Will fashion an adaptor tomorrow morning:

He's just so easy to move around, I used to love putting Megs in different poses but this guy tops even him:

I'm not as enamoured with the Movie head as the Te01 already has it but I love the S1 head. Oozes so much character with little effort. Well done Takara. Well done.

Oh the Doc I got years ago from Chimungmung and the second parachute was from my original Sphynx. I kept it when I sold the figure.

I would recommend picking up the topcoats from the previous page that I linked and some good masking tape that doesn't damage the paint. I will do a tutorial on top coating this weekend. Have some scheduled times for fixing people's MP-44s lol.

White tends to be really difficult to paint, but I'll try masking the area with a white line and airbrush it in. Is that ok? or would you like me to try hand application, which would be more difficult due to it being white.

Got my two last night! 8pm, just as we were going upstairs to put the kids to bed. Trying to spend some time with him before bed last night and this morning, but I'm a bit slammed with work for a bit. I DID transform him last night and lost a good hour playing with the trailer, gunship, and Roller this morning. My copy is as close to perfect as I could hope for. No serious imperfections, the knees work as they should (the tabs seem to slide into the backs of the knees just fine so I didn't shave them down, but I did put silicone lube in the top ratchet as a precaution though it didn't feel like it needed it). Tolerances are pretty fantastic all around, everything locked in nice and tight. His left forearm's outer panel didn't want to stay tabbed for a while but it's fine now, must've worked itself out. Not sure if I'll straighten the antennae, I don't want to risk damage and they look don't look too terrible with a slight curve.

Won't write a detailed review yet, but he's knocked Megatron off as my favorite figure of all time. I'm going to love this guy for many many years to come. I am head over heels. Prime looks and feels like the greatest premium action figure ever made and the trailer and its components made me feel like a kid again playing with the most amazing Starcom playset you could dream of. Just... Holy cow. Poses are only limited by one's imagination and the display options feel endless. Just can't imagine getting tired of this guy, which is also how I feel about Megatron two and a half years after his release. As a G1 and MP freak, I feel like I just won the lottery and I just want to run away for a while haha. Seriously, I may lay low for a few days to get caught up on work, spend time with family, and where I can, enjoy my MP-44 honeymoon. I expect it to last a while!

    Till all are one!

Great shots! And I agree on the heads, I'm fancying the S1 head a lot more than I thought I would. To me the S2 like a veteran warrior who has more wisdom, but the S1 head makes Prime look like a fresh warrior ready to kick tailpipe. Makes the poses look even more dynamic.
