I can't recall a single release of a new mold MP-style character from them for this entire year. Yes we got a few repaints, and they've been teasing the same old gray prototypes in conventions, but otherwise they haven't actually produced anything for 2019. Their crowdfund even failed, so it doesn't look all that positive for them. Even their MP Coneheads haven't seen release yet. Anyone have any inside knowledge of what's going on? Are they struggling to stay relevant?

On the surface it doesn't look good but I've heard they are still planning on getting the last 2 Autobot Headmasters out (amongst other things I'm not bothered about)

    Fingers crossed.

I really hope not. I really love the stuff they put out and own a few. Cupola, Gundog, Iron Will, Contact Shot & Downbeat. Hope so much that they can at the least put out Grandmein and their take on Brainstorm.

If they're only focusing on MP style characters, they're over as far as I'm concerned. Plus, trying to go for Seekers in a marketplace that is, quite frankly, already flooded with them was a bad idea and i'm not going to be surprised if they drop their ones given the alternatives out there.

I just want Cross Dimensions Galvatron

I've heard from a little bird that the Cross Dimensions line sold like shit, which if true is probably a reason why they're in the predicament they're in.

    Maybe the Headmasters too.

There is a core audience, but it's not big enough.

Not from what I've been told. Their unique MP moulds sell well. Ppl are just sick of seekers and they aren't listening.

It's all about character selection. Very few ppl want another classics Prime/Galvatron etc, that and HasTak are taking care of the rest of chug stuff. Simply put the money is mp characters we haven't got, it's not rocket science, and Maketoys simply don't get it and it shows.

Their other MPs, I agree, but their Headmasters and Targetmaster seem to be slow movers.

I think that their Galvatron would have sold a lot better than that Jetfire kiteformer they put out. Galvy at least had an interesting design.

Unlikely. Most of those things are gems of engineering and its a bit difficult to find them these days. Then again, it would not be the first time something great goes unappreciated.

Their headmasters are great, just finiah the damn li eup already and stop repainting starscream into bit characters. Maybe since those repaints are just that - repaints that don't take new tooling that money is going to new products.

I hope not, they've put out some amazing stuff and have actually broken quite a bit of new ground over the years.

As a happy owner of their Metroplex and Jazz, I really hope not.

They have earned a place in my collection and while most of their characters are on the 'tertiary' slot for me, I am still looking at their products and hope they bounce back with awesome releases.

Perhaps its one of the scant cases that a KO did hurt sales....I am talking about Striker Manus.

You think? Seems odd we got ko's if noone wanted them although that in itself is another story.

That and the fact they're arguably the most asked for product of theirs online from what I keep seeing. But nah, let's just keep repainting seekers and giving ppl their 78th chug Prime. That's the way forward!

Did they release anything new this year outside of the CD Jetfire ? There were a bunch of seeker repaints, but I think Jetfire was the only new mould.

No idea how the different lines sold, but reviews for the CD figures have been highly positive (with Jetfire just positive), so I'd be surprised if those didn't sell well. They also seem to have been sold out at most stores.

MP Galaxy Starscream on the other hand seems to have been a big mistake: they had to cut prices just to make it and I've seen on sale at multiple places. (Plus no sign of the TC and SW repaints.) Strange because it is a good figure.

Likewise, their MP Megatron probably didn't sell as well because TT announced their. Personally, I went with the MT version (after I saw the TT version) and no regrets because it's a fun figure with a good, nice transformation and great shelf presence. But since they've gone more toon based and lost me as a customer.

oh @nhyone we have been down this road a few time's before but you seem to time and time again ignore the facts ... all their headmasters had 2 or 3 runs ( maybe more ) everywhere sold out of all runs and the demand was still there so we got ko's ... what we are left with are the dregs of the last run of the target master ( which is not from the first run of the figure ) which if they decided to revisit the target masters again that would dry out really quick! infact i bet my whole collection when the final the 2 new headmaster finally get produced that all dry's up in a matter of a couple of weeks or less..... that's if the online stores have not dried up already i have not looked recently
