Got my Prime today. Love it! Gotta say, I wish they would have chilled out on the accessories... really unnecessary if you ask me and probably inflated the price quite a bit... the human figures suck pretty bad, too. Over all though I don’t regret the purchase one bit. Had I payed US prices... probably woulda stung a bit more. Amazing Prime, though!

More about DHL I guess. I’m going to cancel my MP-44 exchange. why you might ask? DHL wants $450 usd for me to ship MP-44 back to amazon japan.

I just picked up my 3.0 from A3U tonight. I'm gonna give my wanking hand up to unboxing tonight, and let my pena have a night off.

My 16,060 of virgin days continue onwards...

I swore I read someone in the Wheeljack+ thread or one of the recent releases got Amazon Japan to accept a different shipper which was cheaper. Someone else remember this?

I was so nervous that my Optimus Prime came broken or damaged that I immediately opened it up before dinner. Then promptly transformed him after. I am happy to say no broken parts. Need more light to do a proper inspection on the paint, but think I'm safe.

Mine showed up from AJ with that feared paper thin box. Not a good look when it had to be “repacked”

But it seems like the box inside escaped damage again.

I haven’t been following the thread or paying attention to anything about this figure but based on what I see in the last couple pages, seems like reception has been good for this? It certainly looks fantastic. I probably won’t get around to opening mine for a while but I guess it’s time to watch some review vids.

I have to admit that this was my first Masterpiece I had no clue what the instructions were trying to tell me during the transformation. Watched a video and figured out what I was doing wrong.

But yeah, this is a really awesome toy and glad I got him.

Well I got him--he's real, and he's spectacular. Lives up to everything I built him up to be in my mind over the last 1.5 years (and for 30 years prior to that, just wishing this toy was possible). Best ever. No knee problems so far on my copy, one tiny paint chip on the Autobot symbol but nothing that really bothers me. Sorry for the garbage photos, but I just didn't feel like putting energy into photography at the moment!

    My short review...

Have you ever held MP10 and thought, "Man he's awesome, but I really wish he took an extra hour to transform!" Lol

Look, 44 is really nice. He's got unique proportions that even the newer 3P versions can't exactly match.

That said, a lot of his origami tricks seem pretty superfluous. For all his myriad folding, twisting, and pivoting; and his oddly shaped panels that magically line up, the top of his torso looks unnecessarily messy, as do the legs in truck mode. Well, at least he matches Megs!

Some sections of the transformation seem unnecessarily overcomplicated. Not unintuitive, just, "did this really need that many steps???"

Given the price, I'd hold off if you're not absolutely smitten with pictures. I'm sure there'll be a hundred versions of this guy eventually, and I doubt this will be the best one. Will there be another with this many accessories? Maybe not. But I'd bet one gets released down the road without all the extras at a lower price.

Plus, if you're so inclined, I'm sure Weijiang (or someone else) will release a more robust version that probably cleans up even better.

Haha, I just tried to watch a review...so, I just woke up from a nap basically after catching a glimpse of the most panel forming insanity I’ve ever seen. Lol, I’m not a fan of this type of transformation because it seems like with enough twisting and folding, you can literally transform anything into anything. It defeats the purpose of the robot ever looking the way it does if it has to fold that many thin panels over and over again to get to that point. I don’t mind a fake panel here or there but when the whole thing is basically a folded over fake, it takes a lot away from the mythos and appeal of the character. All I can say is the end result looks magnificent in bot mode with sweet articulation but the steps to get there are comical. I guess that’s why I barely care about Collecting Transformers anymore and much prefer the transformation of Macross Valkyries that are based on a somewhat logical repositioning of functioning parts to create the different modes. Will see how I feel if and when I ever get around to handling MP-44 but damn! No regrets at all on the purchase but a definite reminder about the relative satisfaction level I get from the different lines.

Well, damn it. Just had a look a my tracking, it said delivery was attempted today. Had a look, no notice in the mail. Looked at tracking again and realized it'd been shipped to my old address 8 blocks away. I'd forgotten to change my address before paying my shipping as I had moved after ordering him last winter. Even though he didn't ship until Monday the system must've generated the shipping info as soon as I paid, despite my correcting my address immediately after. I'll have to remember to take an old piece of mail with me when I go pick him up.

But I should have mine tomorrow!

You got his reflection in the grill, you beautiful madman! Perfect!

What was the main reason of your return? Paint issues?

I have no words to tell how fantastic he is. I love him!

paint issues, a broken starsream intake, damaged Season 1 head, damaged autobot logo out of box, box is mutilated and dragged to hell and back. He is fantastic, and I blame all these problems on Cincinnati customs. I just want a return anyways, because I'm a dumb perfectionist :p

Since MP-22 Ultra Magnus' cab was molded after MP-10, does anybody think a new cab section is needed now that MP-44 exists? I love my MP-22 and don't plan to replace him, but would there be enough demand for just a new cab section that more closely resembles MP-44? They could incorporate improvements such as a panel that folds up rather than hangs over his butt, and maybe make the two cross-compatible with each other's trailer. I'm sure there are other improvements they could make as well, maybe even add lights and sounds, and they wouldn't have to re-create the whole figure. I know I'd buy one.
