Takara packaged yours in robot mode? All of the rest of us had it packaged in cab mode. Weird.

I'm sorry I should have been more clear. How long did it take you to perform the knee repair?

Why are you exchanging Prime if you repaired it?

For the knee repair, give or take 20-30 mins to do both.

I have had several paint chips and packaging issues due to customs messing with my package. Specifically one so cannot fix, such as the paint chipping on Prime’s insignia and a few other problems.

Ok great (for the knee repair). Sorry to hear about your other issues. I appreciate you write up and responses. I will probably do this.

    Thank you!

The space cowboy has returned! I had the same shipment hold status from DHL yesterday but saw the post from smkheidze that said you could pick up packages when it's on hold. So I was able to get him yesterday. You da man!

QC on mine was good. His knee joints worked as intended and the mini figures weren't broken. I carefully shimmied a toothpick into their joints to dislodge any paint before posing them. Paint is better than the + guys I have. The paint blemishes I have are some silver paint drops on his gray toes. I had another paint drop on his foot that I was able to remove with a gundam marker. I also used jarrod's hair dryer tip to straighten the antennas. I overdid the S1 head though and it's splayed out kind of like a Studio Ox head. It looks ok so I may not try to bend it back.

So quick thoughts. THere's definitely a new kind of experience when you transform this one. You kind of feel like a watchmaker working on these little parts There wasn't a masterpiece moment in terms of a specific trick they played to reveal something since I already saw the Generations book. I kind of felt like the masterpiece moment was the entire process of making us experience a transformation in a different way where it needs to be slower & more methodical. Everybody will probably slow their roll transforming him, but I didn't get the feeling that it was a chore. I thought it was easlier than MP36. It took me about an hour using just the instructions. The frustrating bits were trying to move parts you knew had a high risk for paint scrapes, not being able to RTFM (Read the FUcking Manual...wish I could ;)  ), and not being able to see some of the parts clearly in the diagrams. Obviously some people don't like complex transformations so I can guess there will be a lot of people turned off by 44.

As a figure, I actually had the same feeling with 44 that I had with MP3's alt mode. I was blown away with how detailed MP3's jet was and get the same feeling looking at 44's torso. It's this highly detailed, miniature, blinged out G1 Prime torso that makes you kind of do a double take. The pictures don't really do it justice.

In terms of how "premium" he looks, his sculpt and shininess outblings FT Maverick on my shelf. Maverick has transulcent parts, metallic looking paint, and die cast heft, but 44 just kind of has a more sophisticated premium look to him. He looks like a transformer made for adults.

Is it worth $440? I think to feel it's worth the asking price, you have to value&appreciate all of the things that went into this. There's a historical context to some of it that people may not care for either. I think it's not an accessible toy so I can still see MP10 being pumped out as the mainstream prime for adults. So like the transformation, you can tell TT went all out to put in as much as they could into this prime. But people may not value all of those things. I'm not sure how they can top 44 in features when we get the 7 year itch again.
Here's some pics of our blinged out leader:

I got mine today. Haven't opened him- box looks great. Unless Prime is totally loose and can't hold a pose, I'm not fussing with the knees.

WOW this figure is 10000000x easier the 2nd and 3rd time around transforming him.

After looking at the little blue piece that slides into the channel behind the knee joints, the right knee on my works without issue.

I can’t get the little blue piece to go into the channel on the left knee. Does this mean performing the fix will prevent him from bending his knee altogether unless I’m able to get that piece to slide into the channel? Because it simply will not slide in no matter how I try to get it in there. (That sounded worse than I had intended lol)

Has anyone in the US experienced this?

It looks like tape on top of the factory tape (factory tape has been cut through)

Not sure they went in (haven’t opened it yet) but the seal wrap that AJP uses in their boxes was intact.

    tin foil hat much?

If you can’t get it into the channel, maybe disassemble it to check what’s going on, or not do the fix to play it safe.

The knee still holds fine, but I'm not keeping a defective product if I can exchange it for a possible good item.

Sorry to ask, you in the US?

Makes me wonder though, first time ever with any purchase I have ever made here in the US.

More power to those effecting the fix, but tbh ... the last thing I want to be doing to my ultra-expensive new toy fresh out of the box is disassembling knee joints or whipping out the hair-drier to heat me some antennae.

    The latter bugs me most.

Deliberate design choice or not, gonna wait for the V2 in the hope they (maaaybe) straighten those suckas in time. No, it's not the end of the world, but it IS the kinda thing – exactly the kind of thing – in a headsculpt to bring out the OCD streak and drive me nuts. :D
