Kup won’t be made from ironhide, springer has movie accurate vehicle modes, and before you cite ultra Magnus as having a different vehicle mode just remember g1 Magnus had the same cab as prime, essentially making his g1 vehicle mode an earth mode while all of the other new movie characters retained their cybertronian forms, so siege Magnus is his cybertronian vehicle mode

    Seventhed. Sheer brilliance!

Anyway, one character I'd like? Gears. I missed out on his Generations release, and he's the only G1 Wave One mass-market retail character I don't have a new version of, just a TFC Toys third-party version.

The one character I'd like is a Commander Lugnut. Make him a lot shorter than Jetfire, but a lot wider to keep a similar heft. He should be able to take up the entire top of your Decepticon group photos!

In the lead-up to NYCC, it's worth having a look at this speculation video from TFU once again:

The whole video is worth a watch, but in particular, it's the interview snippet with Mr. Warden at the 3:30 mark.

"Honestly, I've been watching a lot of episode one of the original three part episode, a lot, where they're on Cybertron and they're stealing Energon out of the pipes and things like that. I also really like the Rebirth. I know it's a contentious episode but I think that's a really good one as well. And I'm also a big fan of Call of the Primitives. I think that's a really cool episode as well."

    So that's:
    • More Than Meets The Eye, Part 1
    • The Rebirth
    • Call of the Primitives
A trio of episodes, for a trilogy of lines?
    • Siege certainly fits the model, bringing a More Than Meets The Eye, Part 1 story to life.
    • If the rumours around Scorponok (who plays a big part in The Rebirth) being the Titan in WFC: Part 2 are correct, the game's afoot.
    • Call of the Primitives being the inspiration for WFC: Part 3 then lends itself very nicely to John's other comments about the upcoming Beast Wars 25th Anniversary, which is in 2021, the third year of the WFC Trilogy.
Looking at Siege once again, it had its run extended, presumably by bringing toys from Part 2 forward. Two characters to note, Crosshairs and Apeface, had their only appearances in the G1 cartoon... in The Rebirth.

Why not a separate character named Fusion
It’s hard to say with most of the 86 cast if they had earth modes.

I know there’s some indication we may get a G1 toon robot mode Arcee with a motorcycle mode. The card game did that and motorcycle is probably her more iconic vehicle form now.

Rodimus Prime’s Winnebago mode was a mass produced earth vehicle. That was a gag in one episode where another Winnebago with a flame decal gets mistaken for him. The only Cybertronian modes we have definitively seen for a Rodimus are in TF vs. Joe (where he’s a truck that transports literal hot metal rods) and Energon.

I think for Hasbro the question about vehicle modes is less about accuracy and more about novelty vs. recent figures.

I'm partial to the name Chaos myself. Short and sharp, like Siege.

    Detailed breakdown:
    • 3 from Bases/Stations: Ironworks->Irontread, Groundshaker, Skyhopper->Slyhopper
    • 1 from Patrols: Nightflight (third of Air Strike Patrol)
    • 2 Japanese toyline "immigrants": Road-Police, Overair
    • 1 half of a Micromaster Combiner: Wheel Blaze
    • 3 all-new characters: Ricon, Cratermaker, Fireline
Missed Opportunities: Hothouse would have been a better partner choice for Groundshaker, ditto Airwave (American Decepticon version of Japanese Autobot Overair, only difference is the name and sigils) for Skyhopper. Then we'd need Greasepit to round out the Stationbots, and he and Ironworks would need new partners in "MicroTargetmaster Bastardization"--maybe a Countdown repack and Skystalker would've worked here. Wheel Blaze should have been saved until he could be done with his Combiner partner.

So Wheel Blaze needs his partner, huh? Well we wait until SDCC 2020 for the other half, and/or wait until we get more void fillers in the next episodes. Still, I want Treadbolt for that Star Saber thing.

    #WFCMayhem?

    ... Nah, sounds like the 80's :p

but yeah, the next name must've been decided to be short and sweet, in tune with the siege wording.

ah, I must've missed on that one, Armageddon sounds better than mine :p . I suppose based on the name the scope of the toyline will only expand from there. Wider cast, less nonsense design? (still hurt about ultra magnus' armored feet in altmode). Sticking to G1 will be somehow limiting at this point, I suppose they can go further than just AEC homages in the next line.

Then again, Wheeljack and Sunstreaker is overdue in their release

I guess Cybertron will not fall yet after the appearance of Unicron.

So it seems Generations Beast Wars is inevitable.

Yet, that golden G1 Optimus Prime trophy was cancelled just like Grand before him. Isn't it that there is something why Unicron deserved more than a gold piece of nostalgia?

Problem is, the sculpt they used isn't Combiner-friendly... so to build out from prior, here's how *I* would have built the 10-pack.
    *Groundhaker and Hothouse
    *Skyhopper and Airwave
*Greasepit (from Highjump sculpt) and new Powertrain-sculpt partner
    *Ironworks and new Highjump-sculpt partner
*Wheel Blaze from Direct-Hit sculpt and new-sculpt back-half partner as "Preview of Coming Attractions"

This probably didn't happen because Hasbro wanted "at least one of each sculpt," and this completely omits Battle and Rescue Patrol sculpts.

I don't know if they'd put a repaint of WJ in the same wave as him. I could see Slicer or Exhaust in a future wave though.
