Hmm they are similar in some different design aspects aren't they? The faces are really similar.

Base gold, toothy, very over the top expressive.

 

I've enjoyed what I've seen so far... though I do wish episodes were longer as the story often feels rushed and there's several episodes with amazing concepts that I would love if they spent more time developing those stories but as short as the episodes are they're just kinda OK.

I was enjoying the show a lot more than the toy line as the toy line for all of the first season was absolute trash. It seems like it's getting better with the Spark Armor figures. The gimmick is still kinda dumb but it's a gimmick that's contained in the accessory and doesn't hinder the main figure unlike the gimmicks of every other toy in the Cyberverse line. Those Spark Armor figures I actually want to pick up as soon as I can find the ones I want. The rest of the toy line I'm going to pretend doesn't exist...

 

Its okay with this show. I like G1 mixed design. The story is okay.

Season 1 was alright. Two episodes into Season 2, it's SO good

 

They should make 1/2 hour episodes for tv. But CN would bury them at 4:30am.

 

Same, I just wish Megs and OP had better voices.

 

If I had to recommend it to someone, I would say just watch "Macccadam's" and skip over to Season 2. I really like that they are trying out new things with the lore instead of playing the same old tune.

Also, appreciate that for a kid's cartoon, they didn't pull any punches (hehe) when a "certain" character is beaten to death...

It's okay. The dialogue is banal and written for 10 year olds. But it does introduce some interesting ideas and a few of the characters are actually entertaining. It at least held my interest and the shorter episodes meant it didn't overstay it's welcome. I'd like longer episodes - as long as the dialogue improved.

Season 2 appears to solve the worst issue which is radio-voice BB. THAT was horrible and I'm glad to see it go.

I wish they took the time to explain why Bee has his voice back. Like, a throwaway line where it’s said Ratchet finished building him a new one.

 

I'm enjoying it a lot more than I expected especially Season 2. I'm loving all the Seekers we're getting these days between this show, Siege and the Bumblebee movie.

Between this show and Robots in Disguise I feel the Decepticons are getting lots more individual characterisation these days. Not just sadistic, snarling thugs.

Shadow Striker really reminds me of Nebula from the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
I just watched episode 4 of Season 2 and found the dynamic between Hot Rod and Clobber quite amusing.

I quite like the new voice actor for Optimus Prime and while I will always prefer Soundwave's voice in G1 and Bumblebee, I like his voice in this. It's not just another poor imitation of his G1 voice like in Animated or War for Cybertron.

Bludgeon's portrayal is nicely done.

The only things I'm not liking about the show are on the Autobots' side...

I hate Wheeljack's beard, an obvious throwback to Animated.
Grimlock's Frasier like personality still takes getting used to.
I'm not liking the 65 million year timeline. The 4 million year thing has always seemed ridiculously long in the various incarnations of this franchise.
At least Season 2 got rid of Bumblebee's radio voice. I like it in the movies but it was forced and kiddy in this show.

Overall though, Cyberverse is an enjoyable show. I think the shorter episodes help focus the stories removing the usual boring or silly filler that pad out most shows. While I'm not advocating darker and edgier tones for the sake of it, Megatron's beating of Starscream showed the show isn't afraid to go that route when the story calls for it.

It's great seeing obscure characters like Lugnut, Slipstream, Acid Storm, Macaddams and Rack 'n' Ruin.

Oh and most importantly, no know all human children or goofy adults like Simmons and the Headmaster.

 

Just did I miss something? When did Bumblebee’s voice get fixed? Not that I’m complaining. His radio talk was annoying in season 1.

I liked it for the most part but I hated the human villains. I've always hated facial hair on Transformers. We all have our issues.

 

The idea of having human villains, or the execution of it?

Including Alpha Trion and Scourge in G1?
