I downloaded and installed the KoPlayer then downloaded Earth Wars but whenever I try to play it all that happens is the screen goes black from bottom to top for half a second or so. The game doesn't start. :/

*Sigh* Well...that's the first time I've had a program fail to install. Maybe I'm not meant to play this game. :(

I fiddled with it some and figured out the problem. The Nox installer is stupid. It was trying to install to D:
D: is not a hard drive. Earth Wars is installing now...

Edit: And just like that I am out again. :(
It seems that battles are going to make my PC crash. And I didn't even get into fighting. It just crashes shortly after loading into the battle screen.
It's a real shame as I'd vastly prefer being able to play this on a big screen. I LOVE the music and wasn't expecting voice actors!
*Sigh* I guess I'll have to settle for playing it on a dinky screen whenever I get a smart phone.

You could always go with a tablet. A used one would be cheaper than new and should be less expensive than most smartphones. Bigger screen than a smartphone as well.

Getting a new smart phone soon because I am on a family plan and for some reason they recently started charging $10 extra for me NOT having a smart phone.

Anyway, I did get it working. Weird that it crashed the first 3 times I tried to do battles and hasn't crashed once since.
I will have level 6 HQ in 2 hours then I plan to upgrade my shuttle. I have level 3 autocannons and level 1 laser turrets. I see no need to waste energon and time on the mortar yet as no one has attacked me. Storage and harvested levels 4 except energon harvesters at 5. Maxed scanner and level 2 walls.

My 2 star Cons are Megatron, Hun-gurrr, Brawl and Barricade. I'm relatively happy with them so far.
I find it odd that raids for "up to 20k energon" means 5 times out of 6 (or more) you get about 2k. Only once have I gotten 19k.

One thing I found funny: before I changed my name to LoneDragon, my default name was FireClaw69. I had thought random generators in most games were designed not to hand out that number. :D  Example: The racing ship in Star Trek Online, you can assign the number on the side of the ship from 01-99, but if you pick 69 it won't let you have it.

Also, is there a trick to zooming in and out in Nox? I normally use ctrl+mouse wheel but sometimes when I zoom in that way it deploys all my reserve Cons.
Edit again: Shrapnel unlocked! How do I view my character's stat screens?

    Nox Player. I'm on PC.
    Thanks. I can't believe I didn't see that "?"
More 2 stars now. Scrapper and Dead End. I feel like I have a good start and am looking forward to my first 3 star. How many builder bots should I buy?
Should be starting level 7 HQ in the morning.

Until you have all 5. But that means you don't spend your coins on anything else before 5. Free coins are too rare.

There is a ton of stuff you need to know during the early/middle stages of playing TFEW. I'll try to summarize the most important (if I'm missing stuff please correct me)

    1) At HQ4 you could have joined an alliance. There are alliance families that have players at all levels low to high. I recommend joining one of them so that you can start playing weekend events. They will also help guide you in how to play the game from top to bottom. Weekend events are critical as XP and spark are the most sought after resources for your cons. Events also give you a lot of resources, crystal shards, etc. You should try to play in events as much as possible. The triple XP (and sometimes Super XP which is even more) is essential for upgrading your con strength.
    2) For base building I would focus on your defensive buildings and storages. Harvesters and walls can remain 1-3 levels below their maximum until you get past HQ13/14 then you should also spend a lot of time on walls. Always keep at 1 build bot available for walls. Alloy is easy to come by and you can max your alloy storage quickly. By keeping a build bot available for walls you can always upgrade wall sections without losing alloy due to the storage cap or having all build bots tied up in building upgrades. You will always ugpgrade your base faster than your cons.
    3) If you choose to spend (and many do but it is always optional) any character bundles or crystals are a long shot at getting 4* bots especially. It's like playing roulette you only have a slim chance at best of getting a 4*. Buyer beware and "your mileage may vary" are two statements I make regarding them. If you don't want to lose a lot of money and get very frustrated or angry I suggest keeping your wallet closed. If you do spend you're better off spending on small fuel/coin cell bundles on weekend events to help level up your cons faster. At least you know what you're getting with those. The crystals and shards in events swill get you 3* and 4* bots over time at no cost to you. Free crystals will likely get you a lot of 2* and some 3* cons. You can't pull a 4* from free crystals however.
    4) When upgrading cons' abilities do not spend a lot of spark on 2* and even 3*. You will need the spark for 4* and eventually 5*. Once you spark an ability on a con the spark is gone. It cannot be repurposed or used on another con regardless of star level. I always recommend only sparking to level 3 maybe 4 on 2* and 3*. Once you get 4* cons then you can spark to them to level 5 at a minimum. For ability level 6+ you want to use spark only on those that you use for alliance wars and raids.
    5) As you start getting 3* and then 4* cons you can stop playing with the 2*. There is a term you will see a lot called "power leveling". It involves using the fewest amount of cons needed to win an attack. The XP you gain per attack is spread across all cons you use to actually attack a base, not necessarily what is on the shuttle. If you only deploy 3 cons in a 5 squad shuttle the xp gained is applied to only the 3 you attack with. As you acquire bigger and better cons you can start using fewer cons to attack bases so that they will gain xp faster. This tactic is less of a concern during the early stages of playing but once you get really good 3* and 4* cons you can "power level" them which allows them to get stronger more quickly than if using a full squad to attack with. Your alliance will be a good resource on which cons to focus power leveling on and how to do it.
    5) Play play play. The more you play the faster you'll gain everything, primarily xp and resources. Even though weekdays you only get "normal" xp per attack it's still adds up over time.
    6) Communicate with your leaders. If you are going away on vacation, have a family emergency, etc. and can't play for X number of days let them know. It will help foster better relationships with your alliance so that they don't think you just stopped playing and want to "leech". This is especially important for weekend events when alliances fight as a group to gain more prizes to try and finish the event. There are apps many alliances use like Line or Discord. I recommend you sign up with them and join their chat groups. It's a lot easier than trying to discuss things in-game. Plus you will get a lot of tips and hints for helping you to learn how to play.

A couple other things...you may not even want to spark some 2* and 3*. Some are just not worth it at all. The other is I wouldn't spend on fuel/coin bundles until you get 4* and 5* and even then only the ones you use for wars. Again you should rely on your alliances to fill in a lot of the details. And ask a lot of questions! Don't let something be bothering you and causing problems. If in doubt ask someone. Very likely they will know the answer.
I hope this helps you out. Welcome to TFEW!

The campaign gave me a power core and a big yellow arrow over the power core lab telling me to equip it. Apparently 1 star bots can't take power cores and I don't have a 2 star Starscream. :/

Unfortunately I can't help with that. I'm in standalone alliance. There are many alliance families. A few I can think of are LOK, Darkness, and Scorched. I don't know if they have any alliances that accept HQ7. When you go to search for an alliance try to find one that a) accepts HQ7 b) has a lot of members. You don't want to join one that only has 15 members out of a possible 40. If you find yourself in an alliance where participation in events isn't good and you are one of the top scorers then it's probably time to move on and find another one.

I wouldn't worry about the power core and combiner campaigns for now. When you get power cores from duplicate con pulls just keep them and use them once you are able to complete the campaign and build the lab. You probably won't need power cores for now anyhow. They really only become helpful once you get 3* then really 4* and 5* cons. Power cores is a whole other discussion and probably reserved for when you get to that point. By then you should be in a good alliance and they can help walk you through how to use them properly.

    I joined Unicron Knights.
My first Research Lab upgrade will be done in a few hours...working on increasing storage caps now.
The Space Bridge was kind to me this morning, sending me a 2 star Divebomb.

I've heard of them before they should be good for you. 2* cons will drop for you quickly. For resource hunting (alloy/energon) you probably won't start seeing bigger yields until you are able to hit z10+. As you've already seen the zone labels show the maximum rewards. Often times you will get much less than that so you just have to keep attacking to gain what you need for upgrades.

We are ______ Dark Ops now (most of the family) I don't really care for the name but keeps us inline with an Autobot club.
