Yep, I followed the discussion on here and watched a video that someone posted - mine are fine. Following the video I'm being careful to keep my thumb on the blue part behind the knee as I bend it at first to give it a helping hand and ensure it bends as expected, the upper knee ratchet first. That bends first anyway, but I'm being extra careful following other reports.

Oh, I'll keep it. The blemishes are very minor, really - the only significant ones being the scratch in the corner of the Autobot logo and the scratch on the chest:

    IMG_2620.jpeg IMG_2619.jpeg

I might even be able to fix them up with a tiny dab of paint. If I swap it, I might only end up with worse issues - bad knees or paint defects on the faces, which is my major pet hate.

(Hmm, it also seems the tab on the shoulder next to the Autobot logo has got a bit squished, as can be seen from the above extreme close-up. That's just from one very careful transformation.)

Yeah, that is where TT has always shone and where 3Ps have never been able to come close in my opinion. As you say, it might be the pay-off for the hyper-articulation, but this transformation still seems a little crazy. Fingers crossed they are back on form with Bumblebee and Hound, or that I like the transformation more after more run-throughs (although I'm not sure I want to transform it much, sadly).

A very fair and balanced review as I have always come to expect from you, Ambitron. But I'm curious, is the transformation that arduous? Sure, when you consider what it turns into, he seems unnecessarily complex but if you own MP-36 or FT Motormaster for that matter, this figure seems to be more or less in the same ballpark going by some of the videos I've seen so far. Is it that much of a pain?

I believe Dalianjj said it himself, you want ultra cartoon accuracy, you're gonna suffer from overly complex transformation (ie. Rouge, Solvereign). Looks like TT took a page out of Fans Toys. At least it doesn't sound like there are tolerance issues with the transformation (like XTB). All this talk about broken knee ratchets.....ahhhh, like deja vu with MP-9B.....right out of the box and at first knee bend, CRACK. Ya, good luck with TT doing any shit with that. You'll be forced to buy a v2 if you want that corrected.

Your reactions are fine. I don't know if you're interpreting hostility from me, but that's not my intention.

So for me (and I speak only for me), I expect a car and a tv to perform their basic functions, like run properly or display picture/sound. For toys, I expect them be able to be handled, displayed, and posed. Would I prefer that paint chips and scuffs not be there? Of course. Does it ruin the figure for me so that it's no longer fulfilling what I expect out of it? In most cases, no.

The ratchet breakage, however, does propose significant problems. However, so far, it's been said that even with those ratchets broken, the figure can hold a pose. That right there, for me, gives me hope that the figure can do that I want it to do even if those parts fail. Does that make it okay that the parts fail? No. Can I live with it? We'll have to wait and see. Maybe I can't. I know I wouldn't have been able to live with my BW Megatron if his crotch broke.

Again, this is me saying what I would be okay with. I'm not defending any of the dodgy qc TT have had on ANY figure. You all have a right to be worried or upset just like I have a right to potentially be okay with something that works for me.

Wow, there's a lot to unpack here. I'm not sure if my original point or my point of view has anything to do with the ideas and people you describe. And there are plenty of people who have it in hand that are less than thrilled. I don't have it in hand yet, but I guess I'm still the blind fanboy that you describe because you replied to my post? Maybe? I dunno, man, your rhetoric is based too much in emotion for my tastes, so I'm a little confused.

Yes. Why don't you track it through Canada post's website? You can input the EMS number there.

The gray and test-shot prototypes had straight antennas. Very doubtful that it’s a manufacturing issue if straight antennas were possible on an early test-shot. I recall MP-44 getting pushed back from production because TT were making a few changes to the mold so it’s likely that they decided to curve the antennas at that point.

The last two exhibitions showing MP-44 had curved antennas on a coloured prototype, then a production version. In the cartoon Optimus was sometimes drawn having curved antennas so they may have gone for that look. I prefer straight antennas too, though I’m not that bothered about the change anymore.

I was initially bummed by it, but as long as it’s symetrical I’m okay with it. I get why it bothers others though, so it overall kind of sucks. Would’ve been nice if they gave a set of straight antennas to swap out with, would serve as nice spares too if the antennas happen to break.

I have to admit that I found MP-36 a little arduous, too, but I've only ever transformed him about twice because he's packed in robot mode and I'm never likely to display him in gun mode. However, there were some fun parts to MP-36's transformation and it seems to flow fairly well, whereas I just found MP-44's transformation a chore. My opinion could very well change, though - I did take *ages* with it because I was trying to be extra careful after reports of scratches and tolerance issues; I was very aware throughout of all that beautiful paint! So it may not be fair to judge it on one run-through. That said, I usually get a real kick out of transforming MPs for the first time. He looks stunning on my desk, though!

It’s most likely Canada Post. You should probably have a delivery attempt card in your mailbox. It may mean that you’re getting dinged for customs, and you’ll have to go in to pay the taxes owed.

It depends on where you are, but for most major cities, they try to physically deliver and collect payment. If you’re not around, you get the card and have to pay at the post office.

I have never been good at complex transformations. I really wish it had been shipped in bot mode.

I would like to get into TF comics but I would like to be introduced to it and know where I can start from. It seems there are a lot of different universe in this.

This is very bad news and I am very sorry for you.

    Seems like it yes...
