The expectations are high because the price was quite significant. But the same route was used in the process of this release, ie with the usual paint chips issues (always handle a mp with extreme care), some unavoidable lemons etc ... it was never going to be flawless, whatever the efforts we made to buy it

The price increase is explained by the amount of work put into this figure, the number of different parts (I'm pretty sure @Agent 539 will confirm that) and the bunch of accessories. Plus you can't deny that despite having some paint chipping, the overall painting is above the average

Great post and feedback man. And yeah the people with bad copies should take a leaf out of @lord ginrai's book and just be sensible and not blow these serious issues out of porportion than they already are. Some of the posters here just want to prove their point and bash Takaratomy and MP44 by loosing their cool. Got a crappy / dud copy? Simple solution: just ask for a refund or replacement. Thats all there is to it. Hate the toy and had a shit experience? Also a simple fix: continue to just buy 3rd party MPs from now on and boycott Takara for good.
Being a man child is not going to look good..lol

Welp, While I won't pay the price for this guy, he does look good. Happy for those of you enjoying him. I'll end up buying a KO of him for sure. (tho mainly cause I want to try making a custom YOTH inspired prime with this mold. It’s a badass color scheme and you know it )

Honestly, lately Takara's masterpiece figures have reminded me more of Studio Half-Eye kits (complexity, build, price) than Bandai SOC figures. Of course, the difference is Takara is a large corporation and should be held to high QC standards, given that it's not just one guy building these things by hand...I hope........

Amiami quoted me a wrong cost for the shipping and the package was sent back to their warehouse.

In other words, another delay:banghead: :cry , 5 days to be exact from the time I paid for him..

Good news? Since it was their clusterfrak that caused the wrong computation, it will be on their tab. f'ck the weight.png

So the takeaway from this video is..

    A. The transformation is so complex it requires two people to preform it.

    B. The instructions are so complicated they require a semi attractve Asian chick half your age who might read Japaneese so you can understand WTH it all means.

    C. If you play with Transformers toys you don't get girls like that not even in Japan. You Gotta be into hello Kitty.

    D. All of the above.

Bonus. Take note of 12:46-12:47 "POP!!!" Wonder what that was all about, bad posture correction? Or maybe pay attention to me and not the stupid toy people... It worked, what toy! :D

Ps. The figure looks pretty solid to me and I like the aesthetic very much. However I do think I see a paint chip in bot mode on the right side under the window. Just gotta be careful. I thought it was cool TT included some wrap protecting on the sunsative surfaces.

Well not all SOC figures are 100% perfect...some have bad flaws..lol
Now SENTINAL products on the other hand look to be a step higher than Bandai's SOCs. I have their Dancouga and its flippin solid, stylish and awesome.

    Well...what a beautiful specimen!!

    9510BE8A-D0ED-45D5-9BF6-7CFBCF3E6DBE.jpeg

Pleased to report no serious paint issues, nothing overly scary in the transformation, the way everything fits in the legs is great, but I can’t say I experienced any real “masterpiece moments”. Maybe that’s just me, though. ;)

Just have to take it nice and slow, no forcing shit if it ain’t going where you think it should - step back through the instructions, or watch a video if that helps. I ended up ignoring the instructions to finish off the torso, as I couldn’t be effed turning my head left and right to see where I was at. :lol

I feel very happy to have the definitive version of the character in my collection - my Autobots have their leader back and all is right with my little nerdy world again heheh.

Now, do I think this was worth the $700NZ price of of admission? Absolutely not. It’s a shame because I would have liked to buy a second, as I’ve done with so many other MPs.

Ultimately, the money is spent and there’s no point bitching about it - I’m just going to enjoy having this handsome bot back in the fold.

Now for some exercise, then off to watch my fave episodes with the big guy standing proudly to my left.

For this price, complaints are warranted. If they don’t violate the rules, no problem. At this price, you HAVE to expect better QC, especially a better coating of paint to deal with the chipping. Money has to be invested in that department someday

    Please make a tutorial!

Seems you are not the only one liking this figure, but even if a few bash it, then that is what stands out and what we remember.

I wholeheartedly agree on your statement above and peoples frustrations and dissapontments..However , IMHO there could be a stickied feedback on the various out of the box issues vented in a seperate thread. We just want to enjoy and celebrate MP44 without any extra drama thats all.

Porsche is the real villain here, not Takara.
    Honestly yeah.

Thanks bud. I just hope that the majority of other buyers have as good an experience as I have.

Suffice to say, I won’t be transforming him again any time soon. I enjoy vehicle mode, but robot mode is always my jam.

I took one pic of him before starting on the transformation heheh.
