Oh man I totally forgot about that with all the MP-44 excitement! Here's some facial expressions and poses I hope to be able to pull off with Starscream vNext:

3) Cackling (MP-44 face)

I like how the one with MP-44 is a symmetrical smile, but I would really like this lopsided smile too, with a squint to one eye. Very cool.

 

Yeah, it's strangely similar to the "How it pains me to do this..." expression, but a little different too! Either way I think we need that squinting eye  

 

TT could definitely combine the squint with the lopsided smirk for one face, with “How it pains me to do this...” as their official inspiration.

 

Yup, I think that would work for both!

 

Argh I hate how much I want a new Starscream now  

Hopefully it's a quick reveal like MP-45, rather than a slow and painful one like MP-44. Would love the double whammy of Starscream and Galvatron next year. Maybe throw in another carbot, a couple of BW releases (Rattrap please), perhaps someone like Blaster or Perceptor - I'd be thrilled.

 

Quick-release Starscream, Galvatron can have the slow and painful one (much to @franpincho ‘s chagrin). Screamer gets his few months in the limelight before being atomized by Galvy’s price tag  

 

Starscream has slowly moved to my top spot as well, as a result of seeing more and more characters done to Megatron level. Especially now that I've sold MP-11, it's going to be so painful having MP-44, 45, and 36, but no Starscream to go with them! And closely followed by Soundwave (now that I've sold him too, he's my next must-have!)

 

This close to selling Soundwave too, but he might have a little too much wear to be appealing to a potential buyer. I’m worried about tripling up on the Seeker mold, but I suppose TC and SW will be spread out between hopefully new molds...I don’t see them coming with too many special accessories besides blast effects. Perhaps a Reflector for TC.

Oh! Starscream could also come with that core from Countdown to Extinction that Megatron had to launch into space. It’s pretty obscure, but if Combaticon parts are on the table...

You guys really didn’t think of everything did you?? How about a wry smirk and a cradle for Megatron a la Inferno holding Red Alert?

I still think CJ, Mirage and Jazz are in the immediate future.
I can wait for new versions of the Seekers,if it means we get those three sooner.

So if we don't get another new MP until April, we'll either have more MP+ or V2/V3 MPs inbetween.

If a V3 Starscream also gets a voice chip, who would you like to hear voice him (besides the Japanese voice actors who are automatically included)?

 

Original audio clips by Chris Latta of course. On a figure this “definitive” I wouldn’t want any other English actor but Latta. I’m sure they could use some clips from the show. But I don’t see a Starscream voice chip happening.

 

I would be absolutely over the moon for a proper MP Starscream after all these years wandering the wilderness ... Latta was a personal hero of mine (Cobra commander was my 2nd fav character next to Starscream as a child) and well Starscream ... his scheming ways have inspired a lifetime of grift and insubordination that has me comfortably spending wads of dough on children’s toys  

 

Great job covering the bases on potential Starscream accessories, guys! But one thing I’m really looking forward to with him is a great flight stand! Dude’s a jet! Maybe they’d make it double as the base for something like the gun he tested in the pilot (or manned in some other ep).

@Sam probably already mentioned it, but also Megatron’s badge he showed Shockwave (Countdown to Extinction?).

Heh heh, I'm strongly tempted to say Armada Hot Shot because I'm dying to know if they'll get the Audi license for him, but I know I'll get burned alive! So I'll say Trailbreaker. I just know he's going to be unbelievable.





But no, really it's Hot Shot.  

 

MP-11 is most certainly dated and I did recently sell him with a mind to replace him with something more modern looking. I'd agree Starscream is the most in need of a new mould to match todays aesthetic...however my main reasons for not buying recent G1 MPs are todays aesthetic and the price. So I think I'll see how he pans out and how deeply they ask me to reach into my pocket for it and assess my option. MT Meteor still looks like a good option but I want to give TT a chance to surprise me.

I'm not sure if he is likely but Beast Wars Ravage. I loved his appearance in the show, the connection to G1, his cool gun slinger/Stealth agent double pistols (they'd have have laser sight effects or lights on those) and his really cool dark deco. I'd be interested to see if they managed the tape alt-mode as they had in the show or went with a toy accurate big cat...seems like they'd want to to do the former. Mostly he'd feel like a great link between the G1 and BW MPs.

 

My Starscream got sold eons ago..He's almost is in as much need of an update as MP05 was considering his articulation wasn't too far off the OG G1 toy. Finally, he can actually be painted instead of being finished in nasty cheap grey swirly plastic.
I honestly don't know what to expect next at this point. The focus really seems to be on S1/S2 baring leaders so I'd imagine the next 3 G1 names in the hat are below.
