The amount of guns/weapons/accessories is crazy! A gun, a tail/gun, a combiner hand, and a melee weapon for Nautilator/Lobclaw, and two guns, a tail/gun, a combiner hand, and melee weapon for Seawing/Kraken. The Terrorcons each had only one gun (or two smaller guns) and the combiner hand. The Dinobots had either one sword or one gun and the combiner hand. We're getting almost a legends-sized bot's worth of plastic as extra weapons here.

i'm fine with them reusing assets, especially when the remolds are almost indistinguishable as rehashes...

and I remember being pleasantly surprised at how Blot's transformation was not as easy/simple as I expected it to be...

it is interesting there seem to be extra hands necessary when they are in foot-mode...looks sort of like a holdover from the Power of Primes

i sort of wish they found a way to add a tail to the stingray mode of Seawing though...

There appears to be one in both arm and bot mode - it looks like maybe beast mode isn't transformed right...maybe.

I've been "making piece" with this hobby for 12 years now so you don't have to lecture on the obvious.

Sometimes if feels like people paying these ridiculous prices on certain figures feel obligated to defend it. They don't. It's your money to spend how you see fit. And as I've already stated I'll be dropping over a stack on this hobby this year alone. And I can still speak on what I'll spend that thousand dollars on and how I'll do it.

Some of you can be boarder line shill with your post all you want but in reality they need us more than we need them. Perfect example was a man and his son in Walmart's toy isle looking at Transformers. The boy was about 8 and immediately picked up Voyager class Siege Soundwave, while the dad had a smaller Cyberverse figure in his hand trying to sell the boy on that but the boy was adamant about Soundwave. The Dad sighed and just said, "You would want the most expensive toy over here", then just took the boy without buying anything.

Yet here I am with about 11 of these $30 Voyager class figures (with 2 more Siege figures to go) from this line alone. That's $400* that could've gone to anything. So stop making Hasbro, HasTak, Takara sound like this Omnipotent entity serving toys to unworthy peons.

It's there, it's just really hard to see.

To elaborate, it uses Cutthroat, but flips the waist so the legs face the other direction. This puts the tail connector on the bottom in manta ray mode.

    Amen.

Prices are insane, and we're morons for paying it. At some point we're going to stop this insanity, and Hasbro will find themselves screwed. It simply cannot continue down this current path.

I like the Seacons, will get this figure, but the costs are just too high. So I may not pick up other random bots, and may not even if those go to Ollie's/etc. Any price is too much. I still remember seeing those fembot (Volcanis, whatever?) combiner sets, and thinking "WTF?" at the $100+ price. No nostalgia for me, thus not bought.

I dont feel obligated to defend the prices but I do hate whining and feel like it is a drag on those excited about getting the Seacons. Especially misinformed whining trying to compare these prices to Hasbro releases.

Based on the pictures alone I'll give'em both a 7/10 as far as retooled combiner figures go which isn't worth $30+ regardless which company releases them (Do some research on why I should care).

If they end up on sale for a decent price later on then I'll gladly get at least the Torso and 4 limbs.

Yeah but Hasbro has nothing to do with the Seacons, other than importing the figures at no mark-up. In this situation they’re doing those of you in the US a favour, as it’s Takara who’ve set the price.

Now it’d be great if theses were sold in the West, but there’s no room in the regular line-up & if the big retailers won’t bite then what can you do? Hasbro can’t import from Takara at a cheaper price than Takara are quoting, that’s not even possible.

I got mine preordered on TFSOURCE with add to stack so I don't get charged until they are in stock. I'm planning to do that with the rest of them.

So it seems the norm nowadays when something new shows up is to fill the discussion with "zomg! Cost too much! H8 hastak! Me no buy unless cost less and include moar! 3p better!"

Can't we stick to discussing the toys? If you like the toy enough to justify spending the $$$ then go for it. If not, then move on with your life, don't fill board pages with useless hate.

    True, it is an import.
No markup? Eh, I doubt it.
I don't think Hasbro does collectors favors. They do whatever makes them money, and us liking/disliking often seems secondary.
Yes, I wish these were just sold in stores, or at least online retail for NA retail prices.

Here's a question: Is BBTS/etc getting these direct from Takara as well? If that's the case, I really don't see Hasbro doing us a favor here, seeing as how I usually orders from those other places.

I don't even know what that is.
At any rate, stupid constantly-rising pricing is definitely not unique to TF. I've been priced out of Macross for this reason. If TF keeps on the current trajectory, I'll be priced out of it as well. I know I'm not alone. Most people vote with their wallets, and don't voice concerns (especially in fan forums, which can be hostile to non-rabid fans).

The entire point of a forum is to have a discussion, not to simply only hear your own point of view.

Something that you don't like discussing is not whining. ;)

Realize that I'm equally excited about getting the Seacons, those latter TF G1 combiners have always been some of my favorite post-movie characters. I put in my preorder the day those were announced, and I'm looking forward to the final 3 as well. But I'm not living in a child-like bubble. Adult concerns creep in, like reflecting on pricing, and wondering if it's getting too out of hand to keep up this pace of collecting.

Hasbro apparently reads these forums (they'd be stupid not to), so all the posts can't simply be "rah, rah, go Hasbro, yay!". They're not doing us "favors", just bringing out a product to sell.

And you would be right to doubt it. Hasbro is definitely selling these with a mark up. And at $59.99 for Turtler, it’s probably the same mark-up as everyone else. Assuming they don’t get a better deal than BBTS, TFSource, etc.

To be fair, they actually might be. Don't get me wrong, they're definitely not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts because the fans want it, they're in it to make as much money as they possibly can.

However, if they weren't available on Pulse, how much would the other retailers be charging to import them? I'd imagine it would be more, and even saving $5 each on these guys is enough for me to really want Hasbro to keep importing them.

I think it's actually reversed. I think Pulse is following, not leading. HasbroPulse is the newcomer to retail sales, and pegging pricing against places like BBTS, which long ago set up the online Transformers marketplace/ecosystem. Pulse is priced the same, or undercuts by 1% or less. Yes, sometimes BBTS is inexplicably higher by a few dollars, but Dorkside/TheChosenPrime/etc are usually not. Without competition from BBTS/etc, I think HasbroPulse would increase prices even more. Remember, the online Pulse prices are already higher than B&M retailers.

Hmm.... you know what, you're right. I'm going to unblock everybody I've ignored on this site over the years.... Trump, Michael Bay, My kid's mother and just tough it all out. Thanks :D

If the preorder for the first 2 is already sold out then why am I complaining about the next 2 for anyway. Lets just hope that if they (HasTak) makes Monstructor then hopefully they won't be 50 bucks a piece.
