Beachcomber was only ever bright white in the sunbow chart.

Look at g1 cartoon shots of him, he is light gray. Toy g1 he is gray.

Please fix he is not bright white. Thank you.

I don’t mind the partforming hood if you can store pieces in bot mode. I wish it was more like X-transbots cosmos though. You can flip the white parts around for bot mode. Would have worked for this guy also.

This looks damn near perfect. So glad I held off buying the XTB version. Can't wait for this to drop, then my minibot collection will be complete.

Loving the progress of this one so much.

I would love it if they could update the skirt to be similar to MP44, so that lifting one leg, doesn't lift the skirt for the other.

As for the colour white, yeah it's off putting but he is white in the cartoon. The only issue is, in the cartoon, he generally has some kind of shadow passing across him that makes him look more grey at times. Not sure what the solution here is but I'm not sure FT will be able to keep everyone happy here. Maybe just make it an off-white?

Should colour his shoulder panels in grey though.

Overall a fantastic figure and I can't wait to add him to my collection.

The unified skirt is a bit of a downside. If it's possible to split it down the middle, that would be much better so moving one leg doesn't force the whole skirt up.

Agreed. The bright white is a bit much. Even the sunbow model appears to be a very very light gray as opposed to pure white. A slightly lighter gray than the XTB would probably work fine. Either way I am probably gonna end up getting this.

I think the XTB version is better. The robot here is good, but the alt mode is just awful. So blocky. The XTB one is realistic and pretty at the same time.

FansToys bot mode is amazing but there Alt mode is a little too chibi for me. XTB alt mode looks great but their bot mode is disappointing. Fortunately I collect alt and bot mode so my XTB version will be in vehicle mode and I’ll pick this one up for Bot mode. It’s a win for everyone except my wallet.

I don't mind the white just as long as it's not pearlescent white like 10X and Maverick.

Both XTB and FT will match with the current G1 aesthetic - it's just a question of how tightly your collection adheres to a toon-only look. I think both will fit in.

I personally lean more to the toy side of things more often than not. I have made specific efforts as of late to adjust my collection that way as well.
I use toy alternate heads/faceplates where possible, go with toy or real world deco where possible and even go the extra mile with Toyhacks labels.
One thing that drives me nuts is that fact that FT has went the now standard route of easily swappable face plates but can't offer one toy based face plate where applicable. Beachcomber and Brawn come to mind specifically as of late.

If you look closer it does have metallic fleks in the paint.

I agree with the first part of this statement. 'm good with the parts forming hood but I would like to see bot mode storage for it. I don't think a reversible hood would work here. I think it would overcomplicate the engineering. This is a pretty clean alternative.
