I have had RPGs on the brain lately, so this is perfect timing! Backed and looking forward to the projects success. I dearly hope a street sweeper is one of the potential alt modes. I look forward to running this system both by adapting it for using traditional TF lore, but also playing around with the original Commandroid fiction, which has some really fun creative flare!
Thanks for this, I already put some funding towards this, but it was really nice to hear some details fleshed out. I certainly got a Robotix vibe from the Pilot/Symbitron relationship, but maybe that's just me. Really hope this gets funded & we get to see what type of character Vangelus comes up with on D20 live. Halfway expect him to make some sort of Don Quixote based Symbiote, with a more grounded Sancho type pilot. (If you don't get the reference, El Cabong/Baba Looey or Ford Prefect/Arthur Dent are also close enough approximations to the vibe I'm thinking of.) Really just hope this interview stirs up interest to get this funded.
I'm down. Threw what I could spare at this and really hope it goes through. Looking like it will at this point so yay! Even if this doesn't get funded, I recommend people check out some other options for Transformers-esque game systems. My absolute first choice would be the Extremely adaptable and narrative focused rules lite system Fate Accelerated Edition. The PDF is pay what you want and physical book is $5. Fate Accelerated Another option is Mechagenesis from Green Ronin for a much more mechanical rules driven style game. I ran it's predecessor and loved it. DriveThruRPG.com
Man this sounds like a lot of fun. I'm in for the kickstarter, would love to see some sort of demo online at some point.
