Some of them are even, gasp, third party. You're exposing children to your evil ways! :D

    Thanks :D

    :lol

    I said SHHHHHHHHH ;)

I found that at Hobby Lobby in their “action hero room display” area a couple years back... I remember it being on clearance for around $10 but it was the only one I’ve ever seen...

Haha! Yeah ... I wanted to layer in a few MP figures just to have some larger scale items in the setup and you can’t deny the sheer “WOW Factor” that the FT Dinobots or those Combiners give off in person... but you know me, anything that celebrates the love of the G1 toys and characters I’m in for!

Side note, I think I’m just going to close my collection room door for the next month ... I can’t look at it like this :lol

Finally got the last of the movie toys I needed - a complete (and in pretty decent shape) Gnaw. Fairly tight joints, great shiny teeth, just beautiful. I always wanted this guy as a kid, and 30+ years later it’s remarkable how well this mold holds up. Crazy/silly design that just works, and one of the most animation accurate toys of the Floro Dery era.

It looks fantastic! And when kids approve of your toy displays, it is a high honor indeed.

    This is amazing.

On one hand it makes me want better cabinets than I have.
On the other it really makes me want to get my collection out there and seen by the public.

Continue with the G1 goodness guys!

(Also, obligatory reminder that all content should be G1 only. See the first post for more details. Photos should contain ZERO amount of modern toys, unless they're G1 molds of course.)

Apologies for my previous post — both Gnaws arrived at the same time, and I was excited to compare them. I’ll be more mindful of this rule going forward

    BOX SAYS WHAT?!

    Entry 3: G1 Scourge

Ever wondered why Scourge’s boxart has such a weird face? Check out the hardcopy handpainted proto photographed for the box. Same odd face, lower legs blue but knees white, horizontal crotch label. The art was drawn from this early proto.

Don't you need a THIRD Springer? One of his alt modes is being neglected! *evil, evil grin*

It's not just the that the label is horizontal, it FITS that way. They changed the molding as well for the general releases.

Sorry if I contributed to that!

I do my best to follow the G1 only for sharing random pics, and try to crop any pics from my collection room :lol

But sometimes in my head I think of this specific thread as it’s own mini message board for lovers of G1 (and Donuts)... so with things like the Library display I was more excited to share it with the group in this thread than to the main boards since it was an “Ode to G1” even if there were MP style figures mixed in...

And this next part I mean with total love and complete sarcasm... but I think you need to re read your own rules and edit your first post in this thread ;)  :lol

    Absolutely right :thumb

Use of mock ups, protos, Diaclone, Beetras etc...they're always good for this sort of stuff!

Those same photos were used in the German catalog I got with my Whirl. I posted pics a while back, I just need to find them again...

I especially like the “head” on Seaspray and Grimlock’s droopy chest.

Haha yeah it's a gold mine of mistransformations, test shots and protos or mock-ups, Diaclone and Beetras colours, mixed or pre-production accessories. These photos found their way into a lot of 1985 European literature.

On a totally G1 note, I finally tracked down a Repro Grand Max sword, so I could give back the one he borrowed from Fort Max :D
