Honestly I'd be happy with a straight up rip. Although they need to correct the bending antennas on the s2 head and give it a sturdy paint job to avoid chipping on the crotch. £336 is alot of cash to pay for something with those kinda defects. I kinda dig the trailer due to the flight stand.

    IT. Heed our call!

A little bit of everything said in this thread.

And he's getting a KO, lets not kid ourselves here.

The soft antennas get all light colored at the tips. Fuck the soft bendable antennas make them from hard plastic (or.. titanium??)

I’m more interested in an improved “4th party” effort than a straight KO. As that means dealing with the infamous backpack, anything that successfully reduces that to something proportionate will be a huge win.

I’m hoping it *won’t* have to be upscaled for that to happen

Pray do tell, why IT is supposedly the only ones capable of doing a KO of MP-44?

Heh, no trailer, no voicebox, no matrix? No thanks! Might as well stick with MS-01/TE-01 at that point.

honestly I love MP-44 as a stand-alone since i didn’t grow up watching G1 (born 2000) but the amount of accessories doesn’t install the same amount of hype as it does to some hardcore G1 fans. just getting Prime with the gun, axe, and matrix would be enough for me. or if some KO company makes all the accessories with a lower price i might have to jump on it because the figure looks so damn good

Oh, I was being facetious also. But only kind of. In all seriousness, I can understand the voicebox thing because some people don't like gimmicks like that, and it can get the back more to their liking. And MP-44 does come with a bunch of extraneous accessories. Sideswipe jetpack I get, the Starscream bits are a little silly. I think the trailer is mandatory though. I get that's a way to lower the price, but really, with the MP-36 KOs being half the price but having even MORE accessories, I don't think "less stuff" is a thing they should strive for. I'd rather have a $180 trailered MP-44 KO than one that's the same price as MS-01/TE-01, because at that point I don't think its that much of an improvement over those two.

But I also shouldn't have an opinion because as someone who likes electronic gimmicks, I wouldn't get it if it lacked the voice box anyways, and the backpack doesn't actually bother me. So this wouldn't be for me.

I wouldn't trust a KO that came out before the original because the best KO's OR 4TH PARTIES have evaluated the original and usuALLY make it better.

Unless some former disgruntled TT employee got his hands on a proto.

if i 'm honest....i'm probably NOT buying the KO. I have Magic Square, a custom painted MP10, Golden Lagoon MP10 and MP-01 already. I kinda want the TE one though.

I think the head sculpt on MP44 is AMAZING, including the new Starscream one. But...the transformation looks god awful, as does the backpack and panel-tastic top view in bot mode and even the alt mode in places.

I refused to support Takara's insane pricing (they are Sideshow \ Hot Toys now), so much so that even a $100 KO of it doesn't get my money as I just don't like it over what i have already :poke

And...Transformers (86 movie and S1 and Headmasters in particular) is my biggest love in collectable world (86 is my fav movie EVER...), Takara just lost me...i CAN afford it, but what i don't spend on MP44 buys me some 3rd party stunticons or a Zeta Unicron + something else.

I mean, my loft conversion to store all my TF boxes is costing me £350, which is pretty much what MP44 would!

I'm afraid that would be impossible because the back of MP10s vehicle mode is too thick. MP44s trailer is much lower to the ground.

That would mean a complete reworking of the bumper transformation and that's highly unlikely to happen.

Right, personally I'm hoping for another THF KO.

I like electronics too especially light effects but I'm not as hot on sound clips. Don't get me wrong I like sounds, but not if it interferes with the figure. I don't think the backpack on 44 is as heinous as some make it out to be, so I'm down for the KO with or without the soundpack.

I agree I don't support Takara either so I buy KOs, that's the opposite of supporting them. I hear you though I've got MS-01 too, so if they don't KO 44 I'm happy with him as my Prime. I will definitely buy the KO though, I do think 44 looks good and I want to play around with it for myself. Also I want to support KOs and maybe put a little mud in Takaras eye.

How much of the mp44 backpack could be reduced without the electronics?

    This piques my interest. :)

I have no interest in MP-44 no matter how cheap unless he takes that backpack off.

I see. So much for hoping to use the updated trailer on MS-01 or TE-01.

I’d buy it right now on hlj for $390 if it didn’t have electronics. Having that built into the figure adding mass and cost is just unnecessary and doesn’t fit in my collection. I can deal with it on Megatron because of it being tucked into a hollow cannon. If mp44’s sound equipment was in his blaster rifle or trailer I’d feel different

Does MP-44 have Peter Cullen voice clips? Because if it’s only the Japanese dude, that’s the very first modification that any KO will make.
Otherwise we need to give 44 a few more days/weeks in peoples hands so we get a chance to see what the inevitable Takara f#ck up is and then the KO can fix that to. Because there will be a f#ck up. Whether it’s chippng paint, fragile breakable joints or faulty electronics, we all know there’ll be something. Of course given the price we may get all three screw ups in one this time.
