What a stellar day! It’s Friday, a Long Weekend, Payday, I’m going camping for the night, Unicron got an extension, my Siege Omega Supreme has shipped and I just paid my shipping invoice for MP-44! If I find SS Long Haul this weekend I’ll be over the moon!

I can’t wait to switch out Prime’s. Not that the old one’s going anywhere but a shelf of honour with my other MP-10’s.

 

Been brainstorming for the past hour, and although I’m really happy with the English voices, I would have personally chosen some alternate ones. I came up with a lot but these are the ones that stick in my head as to what I would absolutely want.

These would be:

1. Autobots, transform and roll out!
2. We're from the planet Cybertron, a place far from here (to recreate the oil rig scene from the first episode with Spike and Sparkplug)
3. Roll for home or the iconic fanfare that usually played when the Ark was on screen
4. That’s a question you should ask yourself Megatron (come on, do we really have to question?)
5. Maybe a snippet of the Touch but except it could have been activated only when the chest and matrix chamber is open
6. Till all are one
7. Out of the way Hotrod!
8. Few seconds of the season 1 & 2 openings

Extra one that would be absolutely amazing although it’d never happen would be “As the earthlings say, fat chance fat head”

 

I'm excited as it's finally on its way to my hands. I just can't believe the spike in price from what we've all been accustomed to.

 

Yeah, and it’ll only go up from now on I guess. All these people buying MP-44 will tell Takara that they can get away with it, but man expect tons of repaints.

I’m out of the official MP game once I get this and the new Bumblebee. I’d be seriously tempted by a MP-44+ though

Restored my dads G1 Optimus he got for Christmas all those years ago as a birthday gift for him, he forgot he had it! One of the only times I’ve seen my old man tear up. Emotional stuff.

Here is a crazy thought. What if Starscream's head on a new MP Starscream attaches the same way, and this face is usable on a new MP Starscream. Also that would mean that the new MP Starscream's faces could be used on MP-44.

 

Yup that would be pretty awesome. Maybe a cumbersome way to change faces for v3 Starscream though, to have to remove the entire helmet... But it would be a nice option to allow cosplay Starscream to express himself in many different ways. Plus they could omit a regular smiling face so this face is exclusive to MP-44  
I mean, Starscream has so many facial expressions to choose from that even 5 wouldn't be enough.

 

In the unlikely event that you bend them, either way would probably work. I'm not sure though.

Huh. I tried to repair my MP-36’s screaming face (left eye was unpainted out of box) and it didn’t exactly work out. If it isn’t too much to ask, would anyone have an extra one they can part with? I’m willing to pay for it. Darn. Kinda feels bad now 
My attempt:

 

the figure itself feels really solid. It's got more heft to it than MP-36 (edit: only slightly and I could be wrong). The only fragile parts I would worry about are any big pieces attached to the main body via small joints or connectors during transformation (again, much like MP-36). For instance, the sides of the cab that transform into the leg and some flappy bits on the cab that turn into the top of his shoulders. I can't really speak on everyone else's experience with the transformation. I will say that it's kind of hard to transform it just looking at the pictures in the instruction booklet since there are so many small parts to move around. Definitely helps to be able to read Japanese.
