Looks like if you remove a couple of those black screws, the whole backpack will come off.

 

but why would you want to remove it?

 

A lot of people seem to hate it. So that looks like a very easy fix to appease everyone.

 

You can remove the voice box part (theoretically) but not the rest of it; the top half of the pack will still be there.

 

Magic, just magic!

 

Unless something obnoxious happens like an increase on Tarrifs on goods made in China.....

 

Dying to watch the reviews and see the transformation and sound clips, but I'm waiting until I have mine and can experience everything first-hand.

I can see there being a demand for a replacement piece that slopes into the body, then. Cool.

(I'm all for voice gimmickry myself but that's cool that that exists)

 

Would have prefered to have mini figures more like Chip CHase and Raoul, granted they don't have articulations, but they look stellar compared to those 3. They look horrible... Oh well can't win them all.

Transformation seems quite a bit involved with loads of panels, not sure I'd find it that fun to do...

 

It’s pretty clear in the video at around 19:45. That by removing the screw I previously circled the whole “arm” holding the top part of the back pack will come off.

I've said it before, but it's fucking nuts that these recent MPs can pose more fluidly and freely than most dedicated action figures can, while still maintaining the ability to transform. With complex transformations even. Absolute voodoo magic.

Good point, didn’t see that first pic before. I suppose you could remove the whole pack then, but you’re left with a messy back. And you can’t transform him!

 

What's this easy "fix" you're alluding to? You DO realize that the voicebox section is also integral to the figure being properly transformed and not having giant gap or hanging arm mechanism, yeah?
