    YouTube (Legacy):
I think MP-10's broader shoulders and overall wider torso creates the illusion that his pack is smaller. MP-44's more slender and therefore the pack seems larger by comparison.

Right? After all that bitching done around these parts by some folks, MP-44’s backpack doesn’t look as nearly as bad as the complainers made it out to be.

Am I the only one bothered by the placement of the arms, they're a bit too far back, which is a problem many figures have.

Those human figures look like absolute trash though as per the usual with Takara.

I feel like they didn't even try. Come on now, Takara

You guys own Diaclone for fuck's sake. Why can't you use the same technology to make the human figures for Transformers?

Anyway, Takara needs to bring in somebody that actually has the capacity and the know-how to sculpt fully poseable humans in the small scale.

in hand they are fine. It's the material they chose that is not up to par with diaclone. but they still serve well

    yeah , just you
the arm placement is proportionally correct , if not a smidge behind because of how the camera shoot the figure from its side. Its position is pleasing to the eye.

if you want a figure that fit the "arm too far back" , MP12 mold is there

Are the smokestacks not pulled all the way up? They don't seem flushed to the cab

Every photo just makes me love the design of this figure even more.

The backpack really doesn't look bad at all! Personally, I don't mind a backpack, but it doesn't even look too much bigger than mp-10.

Also, those are rubber tires right??

I understand that it is anitomically correct, but when it comes to someone like Optimus Prime, who has no torso, it's a bit off putting, to me.

Looks like they're on a hinge, so they may be missing positioned somewhat

Indeed. And it's weird to see his side panels are folded into his legs.

I mean, yeah, he looks better than MP10. Just not "spend another $400" better. And that transformation looks insanely unintuitive.

I think I'll stick with Siege Optimus for my anime-look Optimus Prime.

with the arms being back a little bit, it makes the backpack look smaller, so i am fine with it really.

Don't know about that, but it's mistransformed in robot mode there. They should be swiveled to the center of the shoulder.

seriously folks still seem so confuse why takara went with this approach ? particularly the whole side cab panels go into side of his legs ?
because they are trying to materialize "mass-shifting" , which in this case bring the mass of the cab to fill in the leg , make the bot mode torso slimmer. Which is the problem with MP10 gorilla proportion.
The rest of the transformation takara still try to remain classic as possible. MP-45 is still similar to MP-21 . MP-36 is as close to on screen as possible. MP-44 still keep the L shape arm into torso , etc.
Yes yes I keep hearing the whine multiple time of doesn't agree with takara latest approach. If so , move on. The whining is just tiresome
    *end rant*

Oh, MP-10’s backpack wasn’t THAT much slimmer than MP-44’s. Obviously, it would’ve been more ideal if MP-44’s was as slim as MP-10’s, but it’s really not offensive at all. Though, that is up to your taste.

MP-10’s backpack IMO looks like a stump than an actual backpack. MP-44 is tasteful in that it actually looks like a backpack, albeit big. MP-10’s was an after-thought.

Though, that’s enough backpack talk to me. I think shape matters more than size.

Also, concerning transformation, it doesn’t seem as bad as MP-36’s. Not that MP-36’s is bad, just complex and time consuming. Looks better than TE-01’s transformation for sure too.

It just seems crazy because it’s way more complex and different from every other Optimus Prime figure. TT always makes transformations both intuitive and fun, something a lot of 3rd parties don’t focus on.

I was about to say this too. I don’t mind the human figures having unpainted faces, it’s pretty hard to paint faces at such a small scale, but the sculpt work here is pretty lacking. Spike and Sparkplug look like abominations.

I don’t mind the rest of the sculpting, it could be better but they’re okay. The faces though, they really don’t look like Spike or Sparkplug. Carly looks fine however. Hopefully a 3P can come in and make better human figures?

They need to step their game up a bit with the human figures. MP-45/47’s Spike looks slightly better though.

The backpack is as big as MP10's??? Next thing you're gonna try to tell me is MP45's backpack is about the same size as MP21's backpack! What the hell am I supposed to do with this pitchfork and torch?
