Damn Straight!!!! The bay designs and his movies(for the most part-I actually think a few of the designs are good), speak loudly of macho bull$hit and a blatant failure to adapt the iconic previous aesthetic and TFverse sensibly. BB was always supposed to be an underdog/Cybertronian bridge-to-humans-character, and therefore his alt-mode and his robot design was supposed to reflect that. While I understand change happens, the bay films are guilty of changing things (and several other offenses) just for the sake of change. Thank God bay didn't touch Star Wars or other sci-fi franchises (the Disney-era Lucasfilm issues notwithstanding) or any superhero franchises . . .I rank the bay films with uwe boll's films. . .

Some simple changes would have made things easier to digest. Of course this is in hindsight but:
Galvatron instead of Megatron from the start. Hugo Weaving's voice resembles more of the performance Nimoy gave in the 86 movie. Visually he also has some resemblance to incarnations of Galvatron.

I don't dislike change as change, even if it's merely for the sake of change. I just don't like change that results in a downgrade or negative result compared to before, and I don't like when that becomes the identity of the brand going forward. Plenty of TF series have shaken up the status quo and renamed/redesigned characters more drastically than even Bay has, but those exist in niches. Problem is the TF movies were always going to become the new face of the brand, and it wasn't a face anyone recognized.

Even though bay Galvatron was another ugly af baystrosity, I have to admit that hearing Frank Welker's voice was cool-especially when he says, "That is why I have no fear!". Take away that cubeformer ish, change up his design, and build up his character and then there would be a different situation than the one we got-if and only if Travis Knight or some other capable director had rendered him cinematically. . .

In addition to being civil, keep in mind we're also talking about Bumblebee specifically, or at least the Bay vs. Knight choices that affect Bumblebee. Stay on topic.

As a Bayverse fan i want to support you in this, but you're being quite toxic and you're not really coming up with any arguments, so i think it would be best for you to just let this go.

My experience was and still is the opposite. I've ignored a lot of people for attacking the Bay designs and movies relentlessly...

Everyone recognised the Bayverse characters for who they were, and only people on this website complained about the designs for not following your beloved G1. Bay had said previously multiple times he didn’t want to follow G1, and I’m glad he didn’t. Didn’t recognise who they were? The names Bumblebee and Optimus Prime themselves have become mainstream mainly because of the movies Bay made. Negative result? In. Your Opinion.

What dictates how those designs look in real life? They're SPACE ALIENS, they wouldn't be subject to design limitations on Earth. Or are you convinced transformation can not happen without a bazillion pieces moving all at once for the sake of complexity over function?

I’d say that looks a lot more convincing than that G1 picture. They literally just have a window that signifies what they transform into. Bayverse had wheels, lights, PARTS from the car etc.. I think you’ve forgotten how most people, especially after the 07 movie, praised the bots for how realistic they looked.

Oh, so you're whining about the production quality of a cheaply produced 80s cartoon. Even though if you actually bothered looking up the original mold, since Ironhide and Ratchet were the same figure, you'd see that beyond the head (which was a chair), the robot modes were actually pretty accurate as most of the vehicle was a separate weapons platform.

Now, nobody is saying they want EXACTLY the G1 cartoon designs as you've convinced yourself, more kibble is of course necessary. But all people want is that big window chest and a vaguely similar silhouette profile or at least a more normal looking head. A G1 looking form with more vehicle parts would more than be sufficent.

Not to mention you whining about the presence of car parts is ironic given the direction the films took to PURGE the robot designs of such details as early as 2011...

It would seem all of these kind reminders were more or less ignored, and a cleanup had to be done. So here's what's going on since it's these two rules that keep getting stepped on here:

Any further violations of these rules from this post on will result in consequences:

    1. No Insults, Trolling, Flaming, Name Calling, Harassing, Etc.
We will not tolerate insults, excessive profanity or throwing a topic off course. Use of racial, bigoted, sexist, or discriminatory terms or phrases is not accepted. Posts intended solely to antagonize others are not accepted. Keep topics/posts where they belong. Generally, “play nice”.

    13. No Disruptive Posting or Flamebaiting
Do not purposely post anything which will cause another member (or members) to react negatively. This is subjective. The TFW2005 staff will evaluate the trend of posts made by those consistently being reported or those that are repeatedly involved with arguments on the site. If their overall method or content of posting leads to staff attention repeatedly, we reserve the right to warn, infract and/or ban accordingly.

Please pay particular attention to the parts in red. Thank you, and once again, carry on.

Bay made it clear he didn't want to make Transformers at all. Every movie he kept saying he was done, and his lack of interest in the source material just kept getting more and more apparent as time went on.

I saw a new Volkswagen beetle today. I always wanted to see a Bee that transformed into one of those. Like maybe in the alternator line...

You can thank Volkswagen for actually killing the idea of Bumblebee being a New Beetle in the Alternators line because of the 'war toys' association.

Neither. The Bumblebee movie design doesn't fix any of the problems that I had with Bumblebee's original design in the first place. All they did was change his vehicle mode. I didn't hate the design because he wasn't a VW bug. I couldn't care less about what he transforms into. I hate the design because the head doesn't look like Bumblebee and doesn't even have a real face. The rest of the robot doesn't look like he can actually transform. It looks more like a robot built from broken car parts that can never form a car again rather than a robot who can transform into a car.

I guess the Bumblebee design did actually solve one issue I had... he does at least look more solid. There aren't as many obvious gaps in the armor so I guess if I had to choose then I'd choose that one. Though I think WW2 Bumblebee from TLK also solved that problem.

Sorry but I can’t imagine G1 BB face in live action. His face looks insanely ugly. I’m glad they changed it
