I haven't found the series dull or tedious. It feels to me there is a lot going on but no character can get a fix on it let alone able to guide it well. Agreed there isn't a lot of action, and that is very much going to vary for people how much they enjoy that. Though I've liked the sudden jumps of action I have seen so far. Well I do like Daria. My wife and I recently rewatched the entire series (damn music liscencing rights). I must be deranged.
I think that's just it though, its a franchise built up around action and wars... It's like a Marvel or Avengers film being set in Tony Starks boardroom for 90% of the feature to "build a deeper dialogue" No one is there for that. Daria is actually very dope, a cult classic haha. I guess I was referencing the vibe that show had, its what I'm seeing in these comics and it doesn't work well here at all.
But are you being paid for that review or are otherwise forced to read the book? I highly doubt that you have to do anything of those things. And bad reviews alone don't make a bad comic go away. I understand checking out the first few issues to see if you like it and dropping it if it isn't to your liking, but by issue 11 if you're still dissatisfied but keep on reading all you are doing now is telling IDW to stay the course and only hurting yourself.
The slowness is a big complaint of Captain America right now as well. Another one I am really enjoying. At times it is even slower, as a lot of the book is spent on Rodger's introspection. In all fairness the action is more consistent. I'm fairly good with trying a new tone on this Transformers series. I do see how it can be rough if someone wants a more traditional Transformers story. I don't begrudge not liking the series. As to the poorly written aspect that some criticise, I disagree but we all have our opinions. I am really enjoying the Transformers X Ghostbusters book. It is silly light hearted fun. I also feel like they use the alt mode well. Hopefully some of these side projects continue to appeal to those not enjoying the mainline series. I'm interested in how Galaxies pans out since the stories there will automatically be limited in issues. I think some are only one or two issues, but the first is a five part arc if I recall correctly.
Here here. I checked out the Ghostbusters crossover expecting to hate it but was pleasantly surprised by that lighthearted fun you mention. If the Galaxies series you mention is the Spotlight esq run starting with the Constructicons I am very excited about that! I'm anticipating something really dark and serious that suits my sensibilities a little more; really will be interesting to see how it pans out.
The art is really nice here. Megs is getting scarier. You can tell he has this barely contained anger simmering below the service when he’s talking to Orion that comes out occasionally (almost got in a scuffle with Ironhide at the funeral). But when he snaps, he freakin SNAPS. Poor Soundwave.
This art is decent and things are finally picking up. It’s not just robots standing around talking now. Megatron punched something!
I want to know what Soundwave is thinking in that last panel. It could be a moment of realization that this situation isn’t going to blow over and they’ve reached a breaking point. Damn. love the Ascenticon drama from issue 10 and this preview the more I think about it. Megatron decided to play with fire.
Looking on that snippet of the list of potential murders, it looks like we have one so far (Quake). Imagine if the second murder was hinted on that list. Can’t imagine it being Rumble or Frenzy though, only if because it’s hard for me to imagine how they would kill Brainstorm, unless they kept punching him to death...
Sentinel Prime is still orange. Jesus, one poorly scanned image in sunset lighting and it becomes a color scheme that never goes away.
Dude did he just flip Soundwave's table and then proceed to break his...What the hell are these actually? It looks like some kind of a videogame console? EDIT: Wait I noticed it to the side. Are they...Guns? Medical equipment?
When the action highlight of your transformers comic is megatron punching a tool rack, you know you bungled it.
Yes, diamond has it listed it listed to be released tomorrow and is already available on idw’s site digitally
