As Kayman26 said, we mostly bitch about characters not being made. And their crazy 1 year lead times.

Also, on the topic of box... i really do hope we get a premium treatment on the Unicron box.

Now tying in both hot toys and boxes....

I just got the Darth Maul DX. I already knew the fig was gonna be good, but OMG the box. The premium box really put me over the edge. I was and still am AMPED about the figure. I am realizing the box really does make a huge subconscious impression.

The box art looks great and I a glad that they are including a mini galvatron and a feature where you could swap out the beard accessories.

That sounds awesome. I'd prefer not to buy two but I may if it'll help the cause! I assume the extra bonus item will be something small but I'm stupid excited about the beard so whatever they throw in will just be a second cake on top of another cake.

Out of curiosity, if the texturing, scuffing, and panel lining were added, would you still get this?

The 8k number is both to ensure the project is viable *and* while still attracting enough of an audience. It's entirely possible they looked at charging less, but the issue was the amount needed to make the project viable would have been too high.

This has been a good morning. A 250 backer day will go a long ways but we need four consecutive 250ish days followed by a 700 ish last day coupled with etailer and international orders.

First four days were around 1600. First day was 798?

We already got the majority of international backers added yesterday from the affiliates. Of Those affiliates, some are still taking orders and those will be added as well.

I believe it took about 10 days to hit 2000. The Barge, by contrast, hit 2000 in four days. I made a post about the 2000 mark WAAAY earlier in the thread but I don’t recall the specifics.

Ugh...I'd rather not have rumors like this get started because if they're just rumors and people back based on them....THPPPPPT.

Definitely think the box art should fit in line with the 1986 series... especially with all the reissues happening, and the fact the original was cancelled, it would be great to finally get him in the proper packaging. I’d even say commission the artist who did the original character paintings to do one of Unicron for the box

Apologies, I was exaggerating the actual alloted time, but most projects looking for backers that are asking this much still tend to have more allotted time, presumably to give potential backers time to allocate funds. I realize I wasn't being accurate, I was merely trying to point out why this campaign might not succeed in the end.

Not that I don't want it to succeed, mind you, if I didn't I wouldn't have backed it. But still.

I think a final day total of 1000 new backers(not etailer orders) is realistic.

Wow that galvatron looks like he was thrown into the sun and then fished out , also surprised they included beard/cleft options, still doesn’t make the head sculpt any prettier to me, but hopefully it makes everyone that wants him happy

I’m not trying to get people to back based off of rumors. And honestly is a small bonus item really going to change someone’s mind?

The more Hasbro pushes out getting up-to-date numbers on the site the more worried I get that people won't think it's worth jumping in. I'm not calling your information bad but I do hope Hasbro understands what they're doing if that's what they're asking for. Maybe they don't think they'll reach the goal yet and they need to let third parties gather every last preorder they can.

Not to mention that unlike someplace like Hasbro, there's really no equivalent shipping where you can ensure some a-hole on a brown truck doesn't start kicking the box around with his foot or drop it wrong-side up on the step during delivery.

They'll likely debut the box in the final few days here, but yeah...it's absolutely going to have a fun box because it's still a toy at the end of the day.

    It may.

I think these are all very good, valid questions. I'd be lying if I said I haven't spent a fair amount of time asking them myself.

What I'd like to hope (emphasis on hope) is that since this is Hasbro's first TF crowdfund rodeo, with a massive and extremely expensive figure for many, that they'd at least try to prioritize QC so that it's of a sufficient enough quality that it at least takes some steps to help justify the price tag.

Now, whether that's being overly optimistic or even naive, I'll definitely grant you that. With this project I'm taking a "Hope for the best, plan for the worst" mentality and trying to anticipate where QC issues are most likely to pop up which, as you noted, would be around the panel hinges, the rubber spikes, etc., and how I might deal with them if they pop up.

Granted, ideally we shouldn't have to worry about these sorts of things for something like this, and I'm really hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but, yeah... hope for the best, plan for the worst.
