I did a bit of an experiment with these pics of my new vintage Seaspray, in that it's the first time I've used real water in a photo set-up. Pretty pleased with the results! You can find loads more pics (along with the rest of my TFN haul) by following the link in my sig. :)

'I oughta knock you spark out for that back there. The Autobots best mechanic and their slaggin' mascot on the ropes and you throw the kill shot. He'll have our heads for this, Thundercracker. OUR HEADS! Do you care?! Are you even listening to me??'

Weirdly the reflections in the real water look like 'shops to my eye, I'm guessing because of some kind of Uncanny Valley-ish brain mechanic due to how flat and still the water is compared to what IRL bodies of water look like?

Today's "Chris Fails to Fire n' Forget his orders" is a mixed bag.
The Good News: Apparently my experimental shiny, shiny has hit Langley!
The (maybe) Bad News: The tracking results on my TF Safari package have actually changed since I last looked but in a weird way, not in a new status update, although it is updated in the sense that two of the entries now state entirely different information to how they read last time! The latest entry that previously restated Hangzhou parcel sorting now states "delivered to air transport" on the 17th, 10 days ago. Which it clearly did not say 3 or 4 days ago. Hurm. Yes, deffo think I'll be on the blower to TF Safari if it hasn't materialised by the 15 day mark.

    Shiny, though, shiny!

Anyone know of a reliable / good value place to get Mega Construx figures that isn't eBay? While they're a little oversized for CHUG compatibility I'd still love to get a Xenomorph or He-Man or some shit.

    Guess what?

    A85 Jetfire.jpg

    A85 Roadbuster.jpg

I have started work on the 1985 cards! Aside from tightening up the layout and a lone font change, it's all in vectors now (as opposed to pixels) so it should look a bit crispier than last time!! With a bit of luck I'll get the work for these done soon, and then get orders etc while I work on the 2020 calendar!!!

    I AM EXCITE!

Am I the only dumb-ass in the room that had no idea Hound's shoulders / arms pulled out from his hood so he can actually raise his arms and hold things, and then you have somewhere to plug his shoulder launcher?

Dumb. Ass. The perils of not owning a mold as a child. Didn't get Hound until about 1998 and it was a right beater, and then nothing until the Takara book reissues. Can barely remember ever getting him loose as stock.

Gonna attempt to sticker him tonight. Anything I need to know @Maz ? 20190826_225754.jpg 20190826_225012.jpg 20190826_225609.jpg

    Yes. It SUCKS.

I really had a rough time doing Detritus.

Anyway, with Hound, there is one sticker that is simply not shown with regards to location, I think it's "20". You basically need to manually cut it in half and it goes on the sides of his waist. The only place this is in evidence is in the G1 instruction images:

    HoundCapture.JPG

Also with many of his stickers, you will find not all of the sticker is covering a solid surface, some of it will just hang in mid air, like the ones on his 'doors'. Very frustrating and precarious. Watch out for stickers on his arm as the instructions may confuse you with the orientation, and if they peel be careful when transforming as you can bend them.

Here's my Detritus for some references:

I love The Last Jedi. Sort of tired of defending it now but I still get a lot from it.

Not only does it acknowledge how fucking stupid the Jedi were in the prequels, it acknowledges the dangers of any dogmatic system, and it acts as a great counter point to the literally thousands of over used "Chosen One" plots we've had in the decades since Lucas cut and pasted Joseph Campbell and decided to evolve the idea of the Force from something that anyone can tap into, to some sort of mystical pre-determinism.

As much as I like Empire and Jedi, Star Wars is the only movie that doesn't contradict everything because at the time it existed in a bubble. Fuck old Lucas and fuck "Episode 4", give me Star Wars the adventures of Luke Skywalker, from the Journal of the Whills (ghost written by Alan Dean Foster). He no more knew what the prequels and sequels would be for SW than he did for the supposed Indiana Jones 5 movie concept. They're all made up on the fly.

The biggest problems that movie has is that everything happens at the speed of plot. Which is a problem carried by 99% of films, but few are dragged under the microscope like Star Wars is.

Hamil always said Luke Skywalker was Lucas, and I think that continues into TLJ. Disney portray Lucas as this sad old hermit who can't do anything without the entire universe holding its breath to see what he does, so Luke does what Lucas did and removes himself from the picture to allow the new guard to tell their own tales.

It's just Luke managed to do it without calling Disney a bunch of slaves. And he didn't get paid 4 billion.

"Forget the past, kill it if you have to."

I can see why a lot of people disliked the film, and most people I know seemed to understand it a bit more on second viewing. I guess we all carry expectation into a film like Star Wars, I guess I'm lucky that I don't care about them as much as I did and just go in as they are.

I'm as guilty as anyone of having a toxic mindset when it came to the prequels and that did probably hamper them for me a bit, but what are our late teens/early twenties for if not taking movies way too seriously?

It's a tricky one, a few G1 bots I think have too many stickers and I've always been a bit fussy about them looking too cluttered so I might have to go sparingly on Hound.

The arms should slide out when you rotate the front wheels down IIRC. Between this automorph and his 'dramatic head reveal' hound was ahead of his time.
