I don’t mind the matte finish, but the colours feel less vibrant than they could be in some cases. Glad to see the good reviews of hoist though - think I’ll pick him up.

I like the matte finish, but I agree about the wheels being too simple. If MST would makes wheels like Newage, that would be the ultimate.

I hate to say this, but yeah. I didn't realize how much I missed nice wheels on my Legends until I got my first New Age figure (Jazz). I love magic Square, but their simple pinned wheels look very cheap by comparison.

I certainly don't mind the matte finish on Magic Square stuff. Most of the time.
Cyclonus and Grapple don't suffer from it. But Sideswipe? I don't love it on Sideswipe.
But I'm really looking forward to get the Hoist to go with my Grapple, and nice and matte will do.

    Now on to Crane:
    ms hoistbot.jpg mshoist truck.jpg
He's a dull kinda green, but I think its a nice looking bot and truck mode. The transformation is kinda complex for a legend- like its still mostly intuitive, its just certain pieces have to be turned a certain way, what with the turning the feet at the ankles, and then the legs again at the thighs. All to make him longer looking in truck mode but shorter in bot mode than Trailbreaker.

I mean, I appreciate these companies putting forth some relatively significant effort in make their hoists and trailbreakers more than just the same figure with a different head and backup, given that was all the original toys were.

Anyways, the only real negative I have is those side panels and the little arms they're on are kinda tight, I feel one can easily snap them if they're a little too heavy handed. Well, I guess the other negative is now I have to get Grapple to go with him.

Yeah, that is a nice touch.

And for some reason their Grapple and Inferno are, as Trailbreaker and Hoist aren't, just the same figure with a different head (and backpack). Oh well :)

They did put in a more effort in for Sideswipe and Red Alert. Hopefully future figures are more like Hoist/Trailbreaker than Inferno/Grapple.

they didnt put much effort into many of their earlier releases or the scale. but hopefully moving forward with the course correction they have made will only be for the betterment of the brand. i for one am excited for some of the new cons and maybe ratchet.

The new cons look like a big step up. The difference between Blaster and his minions and Soundwave and his minions seemed huge, but I am wondering if Ravage doesn't transform and they include a non-transforming tape to stick in Soundwave's chest.

I am hopeful though that MS will be better in 2020

i think ravage transforms into a shitty rectangular shaped thing. he has to be able to alt or else they wouldnt have given him such strange proportions.

his cassette form with be the weakest out of the group 100%

also, looking at the few pics we have that catch certain angles. i would say the cassettes definitely alt on the thick side for their size. ratbat is the easiest to see the thick cassette shaped wings on him. the birds get away with it more from transformation and then rumble and frenzy keep their size thoughout.

I still don't see the cassettes fitting in his chest. They just seem too big

Not yet. While TCP and Toy Dojo generally get things in before TFSource, I think TFSource has some sort of in with Magic Square, as they've gotten a lot of Magic Square releases before the other NA retailers.

Nothing. I'm guessing the Datsuns will be next from Magic Square

I'm leaning towards a surprise Pipes & CJ two-pack shipping announcement, but this is MST we're talking about.

It'd be cool to see some progress on the Datsuns. Some color samples of anything would be wonderful.

The lull in figure news/releases is dreadful.
