The parts do seem mostly remolded to some degree, but everything has the same engineering. Just look at onslaught... and the combiner mode feet in particular.

I agree. It's like they remolded everything but used the same engineering and transformations.

I may get it for comparision sake but that's all. The lack of wrist swivels bothers me.

see i cant really tell about the wrist from the pics. i know the grey onslaught proto pics from IF made it seem like he didnt have wrist either. i am not as sure of that when it comes to brawl.

That looks great! After scouring eBay I recognise a couple of those bits, but what brands are they all, if you don’t mind me asking?

For sure I doubt Brawl has them. He has weapons or something that flips out form under his forearms which removes that possibility. Onslaught doesn't appear to but I will concede that it could just be the grey-coat covering the gap. We will see I guess.

    Or not.

ok, gotcha - but if EVERY single part is remolded (which appears to be the case, 'cuz i can't see any part that's exactly the same), and it only has shared engineering, is "KO" still the right word for it?

either way, i guess i don't really understand the point of this figure - why modify IF War Giant to make it look like... a distant cousin of War Giant? o_O
i'd rather they just G1-ify it instead, to be honest... =)

Yes, I'd say KO is appropriate. It's a knock-off, they took a figure and made their version of it.

Is it a re-tool? That's a different question. If some of the parts are the same and some different, then it is. If every single part is a new mold, then it's not.

this could also just be an early stage or second design model that the IF team cooked up that never made it into production. maybe they just bought the design and are running with it.

designers are always working on stuff and tweaking it along the way. if it works it works if they dont like it back to the drawing board.

The more realistic looking building (firehouse) and all the streets are from a series called "Tiny Hong Kong". The other building which is a little less realistic is actually a takara/tomy product called "build city". I'm probably going to be replacing it with another Tiny Hong Kong piece.

Thanks! Are you just getting the tiny Hong Kong bits from ebay?

Hello everyone, does anyone have the IronTrans Prowl? I can't find any picture or review from this figure and I like the aesthetics more than the NewAge and Magic Square versions. I wanna know if the shoulder cannons are articulated or not. Thanks.

I only realized it came out last week now that you mention it. This tieba thread has some seller pics
    这个钢铁变形,是mft的新马甲吗?同一个比例,类似NBF等厂家。居然没有直接ko na的,原创也是勇气【变形金刚玩具吧】_百度贴吧

Not sure about the shoulder cannons. Smokescreen's ones you can tell they are 1 static molded piece

Thank you very much, that's a shame, It will be great if they were articulated... -_-
I think Prowl is more cartoon-accurate than MS and NewAge. MS has too angular shape on legs and doors, NewAge is a chunky midget out of scale of everything. IronTrans is the better option for me for accuracy and price... but the cannons... -_-

I'm looking at either the IF Hex Wrench or that other ko that escapes me right now. Thoughts? Anyone have comparisons?

My only thought is Toyworld has a more accurate alt-mode plus the full racing deco.It is also very G1.

But I went with Hexwrench for better articulation and the swappable hands and head. Plus I like IF's IDW inspired stuff.

I am going to wait for Magic Square or NewAge for my G1 Wheeljack. I would guess NewAge will do a toy and cartoon deco. Magic Square will probably only do a cartoon paint job.
