Seriously, the early ending of Animated is damn near the biggest misstep in the franchise's history. Prime wasn't a bad followup, but nuRID and Cyberverse are absolutely awful and it's sad how far the series has fallen as far as fiction goes (comics excluded I suppose, but I'm more of a watcher than a comic guy).

Cyberverse isn’t bad. But I agree that since Animated, we’ve been in a sort of new dark age for Transformers cartoons.

probably have a flashback of someone like star saber or primal who in dealing with organics gained an affinity and great respect for them so devised a way to allow protoforms to be imprinted onto native life creating the next step in evolution for both transformers and the native species.

in present day however, due to cybertrons xenophobia they are considered crazy perhaps locked up by sentinal, or even being a mentor to blackarachnia before she fell in with the decepticons. a great way to deal with it would be making them someone who optimus admired perhaps in his academy days also giving the origin for the axe or the faceplate, and him having to deal with the well intentioned extremist his hero has became.

The "Trial and Error" comic from a previous TFNation had an interesting idea, in that her protoform is from the future, at least relative to when she appeared in her father's lab. Though, I really, really didn't like the "divine plan" aspect presented by the comic. A Causality Loop would make for a very interesting storyline, and it would make sense with regard to how her protoform got to exactly where it was, and when.

    A petition to ask IDW to make a season four comic has been started if you want to shout into the void;

While I enjoyed the show, we need to put this to rest like @Master Farr said. IMHO the fourth season would have ruined it.

Petitions won’t do anything. I’m sorry that’s just the way it is.

    Yup.
People need to realize that hasbro (or any company) will never produce more animated stuff it's been 10 years.

I think you're probably right about Hasbro and toys. That said, if you could get 5 to 10,000 people to sign a petition asking for an animated comic book I think there's a really good chance IDW would go ahead and make it.

I dunno, if Hasbro was still doing the Generations style line that actually represented a multitude of eras as they were a couple years back I could see some new Animated stuff or even reissues happening.

Animated just wouldn't be the same as a comic without toys. It needs to be a cartoon, with a concurrent toyline. It's Animated after all.

Absolutely. The designs work so well in motion, and while I enjoy the pics in the Almanac or the toys (I sadly have in storage), I just don't think it would translate near as well to a comic format. It loses out on so much that made it what it was.

I'd buy it if it happened, and I don't even read that many comics, but I rather see a proper continuation.

Not when shows like The Clone Wars are actually coming back.

And especially not when people on these very forums have asked for a G1 reboot or continuation.

We keep getting G1 stuff. And it’s been 35 years.

You are right. I would like to see something about the unicron trilogy and it's been also over a decade, and people love g1 just because it's the firts tf franchise.....I'm sick of g1 but its never gonna stop so anyone that wants something from another part of the franchise will just have to stop wanting it I guess until generations had stopped g1 stuff.

You know, one of the things that keeps G1 relatively fresh is that for the most part they don't keep going back to the same exact old well. Sure, there are exceptions, like Regeneration One or the recent '84 issue, but we are mostly seeing is some brand-new take on Transformers that just happens to have some of the same characters and similar aesthetics to G1.

If you really wanted something analogous with the Unicron Trilogy or Animated you'd be talking about some sort of reboot. Armada 2.0. Transformers Animated: Xtreem! Robots in Disguise: The Next Generation.
