I mean, playing devil's advocate here, people tend to be a lot more nostalgic for Optimus Prime than Unicron. Plus, not everyone values sheer size. I for one actually don't. I actually feel Unicron is a TERRIBLE value, and I'm someone backing it too. It doesn't scale with anything, doesn't come with any mini ships or figures to play with, and doesn't come with blast effect parts despite it being part of the Siege branding. It's a pretty awful value, even if it is big.

ALL the big transformers have had good value propositions. They're either combiners, or bases designed to interact with the small guys. Metroplex, Fort Max, Tryps, and Omega Supreme are all also bases and playsets for the small guys in their lines. Tryps and Fort Max can even mash together with the OTHER bases that came in Titans Returns so you can have big ass base complexes.

Unicron's got NOTHING like that, and I really do feel that he just doesn't have the same value as a Titan does at like, 5 times the price and just a few inches bigger than Metroplex and Fort Max.

my point is when comparing materials to make the product - there shouldnt be a complaint because again, size matters...
what should it scale with...? remember the movie...if we're going to go with scale...
and if we're going to go with scale - there are all kinds of problems with scale in regards to all lines...

I feel like Hasbro is shooting themselves in the foot by not adding the 1500 international orders mentioned during yesterday's Q&A session to the total on the Pulse website. People on the fence would be more likely to go ahead and back it if they got on Haslab and it said 4500 rather than 3000 in my opinion. With a week to go, the orders stateside would probably be in the hundreds daily if the counter was closer to 8000 right now.

What if 1500 international orders don't equate to the same $$$ value as 1500 US orders?

There’s no way they’re charging Chinese consumers significantly less than US ones.

And any way, it’s always been 8000 Units as the goal. Not $4.6 million.

I see I’m getting a lot of hate on here for simply sharing some info I had gotten from a friend. It amazes me how much hate and vitriol oozes from our fandom sometimes. I believe what my buddy told me and I’m pretty confident this thing is at least at 6000 backers now. My opinion is we need to see at least another 1000 backers come in on pulse over the next week before the affiliates and 3rd party orders are added if we want to hit 8000. I’ve done my part twice and I’m really hoping this dream becomes a reality.

and regarding the option to add to other bases, etc, I would rather a figure that stays true and accurate to the animation than something that doesn't. that's just me. fort max and trypticon didn't do that for me. plus, add ons don't matter to me. i am not about that stuff. couldn't care less. i want something that has quality and is as animation accurate as possible. everything else stays in the box if there are accessories, etc and as far as combine stuff, again, couldn't care less. give me something that's sturdy, has weight and is animation accurate - i will pay the money.

I was at SDCC and I wanted to give my thanks to one of the TF producers who was there. I was behind a "fan" who laid into him on how shitty the movie verse masterpiece collection line was to him, and how he would fix it... ughh. The producer just listened and thanked him for the verbal abuse. When I finally got to meet him, I just thanked him for his hard work, and recognized his patience with us the vicious fans... some more vicious than others.

As for Unicron, not one SDCC attendee I hung out with who saw him questioned the look, color, build or absurdity of Unicron. It was all positive vibes and love.

And way too many, "Holy shit, is that Unicron?" Hearing those made me want him more.

The one issue... the price, and that I understand. Personally, this nostalgia trip is well worth the $575.

It's more than that to me, it represents a dream, a damn good movie, a centerpiece to my MP collection, and honestly... I think it is also going to set the tone for future transformer purchases. This is just me, but if I get it, I'm gonna have good vibes and keep on buying.

If it fails... I kinda feel I may move away from Transformers collecting bc getting this close to Unicron only to fail... would really really suck.

Please stop with the lawsuit talk. You've said this multiple times, in an attempt to shut down other posters/conversations, as a defense for various Hasbro (in)actions. In each case, it has been dismissed as nonsense. It may sound logical to you, but it's not that easy, and it's not how the law works (or more accurately, civil tort).

Yes, I'm sure it was. But you also have to realize that SDCC is almost an orgy of geeky pop culture, and tends to warp reality a bit. How many crappy movie trailers were met with lovey-dovey coos, only to get shitcanned by viewers and critics later? Or TV, toys, etc? Quite a few, in hindsight. Once the magic wears off, reality sets in.

    A bit dramatic?

How about you stop? Hasbro would be falsifying information if they were to say they had more orders than have actually been submitted. In addition to falsifying public information this would also end up becoming tax fraud and embezzlement, so yes it is how the law works. It’s not an attempt to shut down conversations but people really need to stop and think about what they are saying

Ha! Who’s gonna have the funds to be able to sue if this makes? Perhaps the unified TF fan base will pull together for a class action suit (sarcasm)

Anyway, everyone get their order in and start the bump!

No, I'm just being me, brother. You're entitled to your opinion, and I'm happy to say I both like and dislike a lot of what you write. I can state my piece too, dramatic or not.

Yeah, seeing him in person - it's unreal. It's one thing to speak in the abstract about how big he is. But to stand in front of him and take it in. I think if everyone in this thread had had the opportunity, all the talk of "What else are getting?" would evaporate.

I think T's point is Hasbro can't falsify what they tell customers because there are legal consequences should someone have the resources to engage it.
and yes, get those orders in!!!!
