Just saw these on BBTS. Definitely want Bakugo. Also please let there be more on the way, I so want an Asui.
Okay Todd, this with full articulation next please: DC Collectibles - Todd McFarlane Batman Statue Revealed - The Toyark - News
Ok Todd, you got my attention with Mortal Kombat SDCC 2019 - McFarlane Mortal Kombat, Doom, Fortnite, Harry Potter and More - The Toyark - News
There was that one that came with the roof statue years ago that had an absolute load of articulation, but nothing nearly as good since. It'd be nice seeing a return to a quality Spawn figure. I'm still waiting to see literally anything for Hollow Knight. They teased it, but that was it and it's been months.
How is this design "michael bay". This also also far from the worst design he's had (MK Mythologies anyone)
No, I didn't. Because Mortal Kombat has looked like this for DECADES; they're not palette swap sprites anymore. They actually have detail.
I feel like MK 2011 and MK X did a better job of updating the classic designs with plenty of realistic detail without making them overly detailed like the latest game. Sometimes less is more.
I hope we get more characters from McFarlane btw I heard from eb games there a variants of sub zero and scorpion anyone know anything about this?
i mean if you want less detail SC makes classic pallet swap Ninjas and is starting on the MK3 pallet swap, i just realized they skipped part 2 though the diff between 1 and 2 wae just textures tbh, so yeah 3 was the last of the pallet swap, and yeah MKX was my fav character designs
Very tempted by that figure of the Doom Slayer, love both original DOOM and the 2016 game. What's the articulation like on McFarlane figures nowadays? I remember hearing ages ago that they were barely posable, and fragile too, but has that improved? BBTS says it has 22 moving parts, but how much can I actually expect those parts to move?
Only other general McFarlane thread I turned up was a couple years unused, so here we go! I've known of McF's line of Compatible Building Bricks for a while now, but none of their licenses were anything I really cared for. Imagine my surprise to find they they have Cuphead, of all things. Random video game licenses, ahoy. While my love of that soundtrack is irrelevant, my love for the art style isn't. So, I picked up the Chaotic Casino building set and a couple of the blind-box figures just to check out. This is the first time I've handled any of the McF buildable stuff, and based solely on what I've got, I'd put 'em a tick behind current MegaConstrux as far as the 'niche collector series building bricks' go. Props for all their weird licenses, but quality feels a bit like the older MegaBlox stuff - some tolerances are shaky, and the prints are janky in spots. Certainly better than the really ancient MBx stuff though, and no stickers or anything either, it's still all prints. Interesting scale too - more like the old Knex Mario stuff than MCx or Lego, which suits all the characters who are basically bobbleheads anyway. Passable Lego-grade articulation, plus swivel ankles, at least on CUphead and Mugman from the playset; all the joints were a bit loose on my sample. As far as the Casino building set goes, it's nothing groundbreaking in pieces, techniques, or results. It's just a facade in the end, but there are definitely some neat parts to it - the decorative pieces like the big derpy Devil head, the columns and poker chips, and the dice panels; plus some utility part shapes I'd never seen before from either Lego or MCx. There is one neat bit in the 'CASINO' sign - it's a shell, a thin plastic inlay, and three 1x1 dots to hold it in place; two of the dots are printed - uniquely - to fill in the bits of letters they cut off. And it also irrationally pleases me that the dice builds per the instructions actually respect the rule of opposite sides adding up to 7. No real play features, so it just makes a nice display stand, which I suppose is rather the point. Have to put points to the presentation, too. The box is perfectly antique-style, the graphics are right on point, and even the manual gets a cute piece of original art with Cup and Mug. On the blindboxes, I just grabbed two from opposite ends of the case and hoped I didn't get Cup or Mug again. Just looking at the boxes, I was kinda hoping for King Dice or the Robot; got Happy Mugman (drat) and...Ghost Mugman (double drat!). Consistency, at least? And at the very least, they're different to the Angry Mug in the Casino set. Still, flip dang frigging...at least if I go buy any others in the near future, it should still be the same case and therefore missing these two! So...yeah, it's collector's stuff priced, but if Cuphead is your jam, it's neat enough stuff to check out. What I did pick up is a neat display piece on its own, and I'm definitely at least interested in what else they could possibly do as sets. The boss stages aren't exactly amenable to brick set adaptation.
