. Guys stop panicking, this thing has everything lined up for production and will be made it's so obvious but everyone argues it's high tech prototyping. They didn't come up with a number out of thin air. They scaled down the features and parts count to a price point that they figured they could sell a lot and make a profit. I'm confident cookie monster was a sacrifice so that people would see him fail and jump on Unicron. My guess is if they are short numbers, they will throw in more goodies to sweeten the pot on something that has a lot of money already spent.

Its 1500 through Hasbro affiliated retailers. I think we have to assume this does NOT mean places like BBTS or Kapow Toys. It’s likely Takara Mall, etc.

Hasbro Pulse on Instagram: “Thanks for all your questions! Ben & Ran from the Transformers team have answered some of your burning questions. Visit the Hasbro Pulse…”

What they mean are Hasbro-affiliates. Which means TakaraTomy Mall, Hasbro Asia, maybe GameStop/EBGames. Not a third party reseller. The total number is over 6000. Just as my friend said. This is getting exciting.

I’ll save you a click. No new information and very much a “stick to your guns” type of Q&A where they justify the various decisions made. For better or worse.

Kinda makes sense re. Cookie Monster.

I definitely think that even if they were close to pre-orders being fulfilled, they wouldn't say that yet because they want people to believe it will fail, since that'll encourage more pre-orders.

He works for a large 3rd party toy seller website. Hasbro rep calls them weekly to see what their preorder estimates are. Last update they gave him last week the total estimated backers were around 6000 from all sources.

there's a new Q&A video posted on Hasbro Pulse:
Transformers: War For Cybertron Unicron – Hasbro Pulse

here's all the questions that were answered:

will there be a payment plan or deadline extension?
    - no, not at this time

will this unicron have lights and sounds?
    - no

are these final color and deco?
    - yes (some materials may change though)

how long has the team been working on the unicron project?
    - over 1.5 years

how many joints are in each of unicron's hands?
    - 6 joints in each hand (one for each finger, plus extra joint in index finger)

    how many points of articulation?
    - 50

    how heavy is unicron?
    - 19 lbs (in both modes)

is he compatible with other war for cybertron toys?
    - yes, extra 5mm weapon ports across body, and 3mm blast effect ports

can unicron stand up without his stand?
    - yes (many of the promo images are actual photos of Unicron standing up, "he has swivel waist, rocker ankles, he has great articulation in the knees", stand is recommended for conversion)

Key things I got from the Q&A is swivel waist, rocker ankles, 5mm and 3mm ports all over that are compatible with blast effects (should make for some nice exploding recreates), plans to reveal new things based on fan requests in the last week. No plans to change payment plan/deadline, color, or add electronics

This is a bit of a mischaracterization. They say that they’ve heard the requests but they are not planning any changes to the payment structure for this campaign. They say they’ll bear in mind the feedback for future Haslab projects.

Hrrmmm... wonder how close or far away from close enough it will need to be to extend the deadline. If there is any genuine consideration for that possibility, that is.

hrm, this is pretty disappointing, i was hoping each finger would have 2 or 3 joints for each knuckle, especially considering how big he is. if mp-sized figures could have fully articulated fingers (not to mention the ability to splay each finger apart) then there really isn’t any reason why they couldn’t do that with unicron.

Counter Culture- way of life and set values opposed to or at variance with social norms.

Spending 600$ on a toy is the social norm?

I said "the counter culture it appropriates" and you cherry picked a piece of that to what? Feel right?

I likened the Pop Culture degradation of beloved franchises(you know the ones) to what would happen if this 600$ figure were stripped down to its bare essentials for consumption at mass retail. It would comparative to its source material Suck.

And some may buy him just to resell him for a higher price right?

I'm curious why you would think that. The project was nowhere close to being funded and everyone could see that. There is no reason for people to throw their hats in at the last minute when it obviously is not going to reach completion. That's what I'm actually worried about regarding Unicron. Hasbro should push the secondary sellers not to wait until final day to drop their orders. If people see him too far from the end goal then there won't be much of a spike because the common thinking will be, "eh who cares, it's not going to make it anyway."

With the new Q&A Video on the haslab site, they confirm a few things.

1: Deadline will remain the same and no payment plans will be added.

2: If it doesn't hit the goal, it will never be made.

3: There are more surprises coming this upcoming week that the fans have requested.
