    How the times do change!
About half the figure in the same size box!
    DSC_0061.JPG
So, I mean, really, I had to buy Siege Jetters. How else to get a box the right size for an in-box T30? :p

It's happening, lads, the exponential affection, with an x axis defining 'time owned' against a y axis of 'toyetic affection' this particular graph curve is going ballistic.
Once you have the transformation down the sky isn't even the limit, it's onwards to infinity!

BTW sidenote, there's another good reason to grab at least two Lionizers besides getting to da choppa/s...

That’s the one I got, haven’t transformed him but he looks stunning in robot mode.

As far as I can tell, there was a trade for Empire, and one for Uprising, and that's yer lot.

Ahh, always lovely to get some studio series reveals. Voyager 2007 Megs looks decent, but those knees are really disappointing! Maybe they wont look so bad in person.

Shockwave looks cool, and that alt mode is... something? I get the feeling he'll be a smaller leader given all the accessories he comes with.

Agreed. Hickman was good. Marketing and forced miniseries interrupting everything and then line wide half as reboot was BAD.

Yup. And even then I'd only recommend volume 1. It's a whole story. A return to that world was decent enough, but I was happy with a done in one.

I did buy the extra weapon set, which has a 2nd gun and 2 hooked blades to complement the weapons he comes with. Even if you never transform him £50 for a poseable statue is good value

I never did pick up the Voyager version so I will probably get this at some point

Nice build so far, but I do think ultimately I’ll end up dismantling to add some painted details, especially to those dark dead eyes

Can we talk about how this:

    mp-44 optimus prime 3.jpg

    Costs £50 more than this:

Crazy times we're living in, folks!

You can probably find a boxed vintage Star Convoy for less than that new MP OP. Crazy times indeed.

Playing devil's advocate here, but that's about half of MP44...there's also a big enough trailer with paint/accessories etc ;)

MP44 does look very...um...engineered to the max, in a way that will probably make MP36 look under-engineered. Both MP44 and the flame toys one are covered in paint as well.

I think an even better question would be...WHY does either of them cost a bit over half a freaking month's rent? Even Kapow cryptically suggested we vote with our wallets and don't buy the thing.

It does look like Takara Tomy are playing a game of chicken with the buyers, and they're using Prime for that. Don't blame them. If you want to really test the limits of your market...try it with the big guns. Bet many would have laughed if say, MP Perceptor would cost over 300 pounds :)

As a strict one-off, I would be tempted by MP44. But with the crotch-cracking BW Megs at a slightly lower price, I would not take any chances until I've seen video reviews and folks owning the figure for over a month or so.

Even if I was in the market for the new Op Prime, I would wait for second release given the past history of the MP line. None of this is new, the Japanese release of MP09 was crazy expensive for 2009 and the first release definitely seemed like a Beta test you'd paid for the privilege of. People take swipes at 3P but when Takara do it and there is no recourse for punters... yeah, not good.

Sadly no confidence left in any of the expensive figures official or otherwise when new, but it's easy enough to wait for reviews, we are spoiled for those.

Well hopefully things cool off a bit where your based ;)

.... And just like that I have that Avril Lavigne song playing in my head, but in growling decepticon voice.

Been meaning to pick up Mr bonecrusher myself. He does look rather lovely.

If I'd a penny for every person who said that about me....

    Mmmm zesty!

Bad craic. Fingers crossed they just pictured the wrong bit dude.

Well MP Prime does come with a shit ton of accessories.

But... I mean... Rocket axe. Rocket axe beats all.

    Bargain price that dude!

I'm just a quickmix away from completing that set myself.

It was a complete steal, and considering what I will be shelling out eventually for the chase Takara version in green, I was more than happy to have this to go with the rest.

Hope you find that Quickmix soon!
