Fair enough, I guess I just saw the blurr mold as less reused because they at least made an effort to make the vehicle modes distinct from each other

 

Because Skywarp is supposed to be BLACK. I can't understand anybody wanting him to be anything other than BLACK. Just like Thundercracker is the BLUE one. And Starscream is the GRAY/SILVER one.

 

Ok but again, why do you think everyone should share your opinion. Plenty of people have already expressed how much they like Skywarp just as he is, just like plenty of people have said they wish he was more black. You can be pissed at Hasbro as much as you want, doesn't mean we all should be.

 

I should add, I'm pretty ok with the way they're doing the Seekers because....they're the Seekers. There's an inbuilt, historical aspect to that sort of mold sharing that frustrates me less than what we saw with the Blurr mold (I thought Blurr to Brainstorm was clever, but Arcee and Chromia from that felt poor to me). See also the Siege Datsun Bros (including their new Decepticon...cousin?). You kind of WANT the sort of mold sharing in the franchise. Though, as ever, your mileage may vary.

 

I think mold reuse is one of those things that has been overused sometimes and has gained a bad rep but is not ultimately a bad thing in and of itself. It must take a lot of time and effort to design a single mold especially with the transformation engineering so wanting to get more than one use out of it is understandable, you don't need to re-invent the wheel every time.

Just for the helluvit I pulled out my G1 Skywarp. I actually matched the violet perfectly without even trying. I mixed a dark purple with lighter violet & somehow made a perfect match. I'm blown away! I didn't even put any thought into it.

Not that cranberry shit Hasbro always uses.
