My honest assessment... bag it XTB. The MP is more than sufficient for me and although obviously I can't speak for other fans I doubt there are many who would shell out the money for another Inferno no matter how cool this one looks.

 

Good question. Unless something else comes out for an MP Inferno, this is still my guy.

 

This one was actually designed and prototyped at the same time as Aegis and Paean. There is no way they are letting it go. I think it will sell well but obviously they waited over a year to fix the issues that caused these massive delays. The last figures that were really in the revolving door were Ditka and Eligos. Stratotanker was rescued from that mess and for me turned out to be a good figure. Outside of the ladder gimmick I really don't like the TT version. I need a real looking fire truck with that paint job. The painted prototype for this one really popped.

 

Yeah I gotta say the paint looked really nice on this one. The chromed and painted detailing on the back of the firetruck was especially nice.
I've picked up a KO of the official to stand in as bot mode, and he may stay there. I still kind of want Dante as an alt mode figure though. And probably the same with their Grapple. But it's probably still a long wait till we see either one...

 

Looks darn good IMHO. All they to is change the face sculpt and then go ahead and get this guy out. I'd still buy it.

 

Dam. I was hoping for an update. I like the alternate mode of this figure better than the other infernos.

 

Yes! Something different for a change. These days it's all talk about Menasor choice a b or c and who wants Unicron to fail or succeed. Bring on this big foot beauty.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if this figure just gets randomly released at some point without anyone expecting it, maybe even as an exclusive to a con or a store.

 

I would be. We're talking about a bot that has engineering that is 4+ years old, would be coming out to market where everyone already has plenty of options to choose from (all of which are actually good) and would be taking up a release spot for another option that would be a much better money maker.

I don't think ibot would ever admit it but he got beat to the punch. Which is unfortunate because it looks like there was a lot to like in this sculpt.

 

I doubt it. That's more likely to happen with a G2 repaint. Then again the G2 Stunticons didn't remain as con exclusives.

 

I think if they rework the feet, they will have the best looking inferno.

 

That's where I'm at with this guy now. I really liked the alt mode and the bot mode looked great back when we last saw it, but the MP style has moved on to a more too-like look now and engineering has advanced a LOT.
KFC/XTB demonstrated the problem with this perfectly with their Octane. By the time it actually got into peoples hands, it just felt outdated.
This seems likely to feel the same should it ever release. Which is a shame, I was really into this back when the colour shots got shown. Now? I think I've moved on.

 

It is this posters humble opinion that these two (Graple/Inferno) and Galvatron are not going to be released.

At this in this state. IF they redesign them from scratch....well, thats another matter.

 

nah they should repaint it all brown with some grey on the face and hands and call it Sasquatch.

I wouldn’t think there are enough sales left to warrant them following through with this project.

 

I would buy it, not happy with any of the current infernos out there.

 

I just broke down and bought the ocular max version a couple days ago. This was the one I was excited about, but it clearly isn't any kind of priority.
