Disney doesn't care. Neither do the politicians they bribe. Hence the copyright law shenanigans.

After reading through more forums on the topic, I'm not too worried. It sounds like this sort of thing happens with a lot of deals. Including the Fox deal, but it just wasn't as controversial. And apparently it happened before in 2014/15, with Spider-man. But that wasn't as controversial either, because fans weren't attached to MCU Spider-man yet. I actually do remember seeing a lot of back-and-forth, with the Sony leak and all. This is just a higher profile deal, because of fans' excitement to see Spidey's story continued.

It seems like it's in both studios' interest to keep Spider-Man in the MCU. Disney needs him for the story, and Sony probably wants to avoid another reboot (which would make them a big laughing stock). I have a feeling they'll come to some kind of agreement. It's not like they have to reach one right away, since the next couple years of movies don't seem to involve Spider-Man anyway. I hope this is the case, at least.

I mean the average for most the actors is 3 solo 3 ensemble movies, if we could just get one more, even if it’s so y done and can’t include marvel elements but answered the questions about the ending of the movie I’ll be content with that

The second I first heard the news, I was just livid. My heart just dropped and I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

I thought we would be in the clear if FFH got a billion dollars, so I felt cheated. How could they just end it when it was clearly working out for both sides? And I was livid again when Sony posted that PR message on Twitter. I was like "dude, they helped you out! How can you be disappointed?" And while 50/50 sounded like a tall order, reading that Marvel proposed a 70/30 split where Sony would have the 70 percentage, I thought Sony was just plain stupid.

I’m still a little sore and depressed that Sony would drop out just like that. But at the end of the day, it’s just a movie and it’ll work out eventually.

But really, Tom Rothman needs to stay away from superheroes.

    Ok to sum it up

    - Initial deal was 50/50 split from %5 Disney got from previous 5-picture spidey appearance deal.
    - But it wasn't written out loud that Disney offered 50% co-financing.
    - Sony said in a statement that they're disappointed, Kevin Feige is a busy guy, they don't need his "playbook" and they "learned" alot from the success of Venom and Into the Spider-Verse.
    - But it turns out the deal is 70/30, with 30% going to Disney and 70% to Sony.
    - And there's a standing deal that if FFH crosses 1 Billion, spidey in MCU will continue.

So who's now willing to be a loyal Sony/Rothman lapdog here?
Remember that Sony while made money on Spider-Man 3 and Amazing 2 it didn't have the "critically acclaimed" reference in terms of story telling.

Anyways, MJ unfollowed Sony siding with Peter.

Don’t forget that the one good thing Venom had was Tom Hardy. Everything else was decried as being generic and not even close to MCU levels of excellence.

So to say they learned everything from Feige's playbook based on Venom's "eh" critical performance and $800+ million financial performance is LAUGHABLE.

What is shows is that they learned nothing.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS? WHERE IS THIS? IT CROSSED A BILLION, SO THE NEXT COURSE OF ACTION WAS TO DO MORE SPUDEY IN MCU.

HOW CAN ANYONE BE THIS DENSE.

People watched Venom out of curiosity and it's Tom Hardy not because they like the story presented overall.
I watched Venom. While I liked it due to my liking of the character and comic book material, it's not that a very good film. It's a regular ok'ish pop-corn cool flick. Not a mover or a shaker kind of film for it's genre.

    Me too. :lolol

I wasn't aware with "Storm Area 51" until I read news about it.
It's hilarious. It has now become "Alienstock".

But I wanna see how many people will flock Sony's HQ.
Did someone on FB created an event for it? If many people will come, let's see how will Sony guys will react.

All in the name of #SaveSpiderMan :lol
