Yeah, but with less than 1/5th of the backers so far? I mean, even if there's a last minute rush, MTs has had a lot of issues to the point where I think a lot of people are gun shy. There was the whole wing filler debacle, the delays on Sunstorm, and from what I've seen there've been a few sporadic QC issues with their G2 Starscream release.

I'd love this guy. Getting him would leave only two seekers left (Nacelle and Ion Storm) that don't have an MP figure for me, as I repurposed my Hasbro Sunstorm as Novastorm. That said, I don't think it's gonna happen.

 

Remember, as many people have pointed out, the way MT meets its targets is by producing KOs. You have not counted those yet.

 

I have finally acquired a solarflare but only 82/500 for Pyrotrail at this point, look like it won't make it with 27 days to go.

 

Unfortunately it's not looking good for this one. Only 18% funded with 2 weeks to go.

Surprisingly there was no real marketing push for this figure. Social media was fairly quiet, and there isn't even a link to the crowdfund on the Maketoys regular website. Huge missed opportunity here...

Hopefully a retailer swoops in at the last minute and picks it up as a store exclusive. I'm look at you @Chosen Prime

And this is where I still am. A small handful of Solarflare figures popped up for sale afterwards but they all seemed to be way above the original price. With that being the case I passed on picking one up, but again a lack of Solarflare leaves me with absolutely zero interest backing this Pyrotail crowdfund.

Had these figures not been crowdfunds and sold regularly in stores online I would have purchased both immediately the day they went up for sale, instead I'm left purchasing none. Thanks, Maketoys, awesome job.

 

100% would buy as a convention exclusive even. Crowdfund no thanks.

 

Easy for me to say, but yeah doing one Seeker redeco a year offered at a TFCon or something seems feasible?

I'm open to crowdfunding this, as it's a lot easier to contemplate than Unicron, but for the average fan I imagine this still isn't great timing, with Unicron, MP-44, and other 3P stuff either dropping recently or on the docket. I legit forgot this was even going on right now.

 

No way in hell I'd ever crowdfund a redeco of an existing figure. I'd rather just get a KO seeker and have it repainted, then crowdfund one.

Now crowdfund the other outstanding Headmasters/Targetmasters? I'm in!

 

Im happy to crowd fund it. Doesn't matter to me as long as the figure gets released and Im able to get my hands on one. That being said I would be just as happy with a dealer or convention exclusive as well but then its paying more usually.

Doesn't look like this one is going to make it though. 12 days left and only 93 sold!  

 

Yeah, I think it's a wash unfortunately. Which is a shame because I was pretty excited for this one.

 

I understand all the haters but I am happy to crowd fund this one. Doesn't look like it will happen though.

 

How did I miss this before now? I'll happily back it, even though it does look like its going to fail at this point.

 

Outside of a new gun, no real reason for this to be a crowdfund. I mean, just flip the switch on what color plastic you use and release it as a repaint. You already have 3 seekers in this mold that weren't crowdfunded after all  

 

Maketoys dropped the ball on this one. Other then the initial announcement, there has been no updates, no additional pictures, they did not send an email to the 561 buyers of Sunstorm, that there is a new seeker being funded. Maketoys has basically taken the best and in demand seeker mold, a money maker and now is destroying all the good rep that was built up.

 

This is what happens when MakeToys is distracted by non-TF business and half-asses it. Heck, this level of non-effort doesn't even qualify as half an ass. I hope they do better for the Headmasters.

 

We can't have enough seekers, right? I agree that if they just make it a regular release with minimum QC issues, it should sell well and really there is no need for crowdfunding.

Good point. I am shocked that they didn't push the conehead out as soon as they can also. They are losing big here.

 

Just bad timing on MakeToys part. With MP44 being released in a week and the Unicron crowdfund happening at the same time people will be prioritizing them over this.

 

I backed this guy. I passed on solarflare because he wasn't the version I wanted (during the whole voting thing).

If they're out there reading this, I'd totally back a ghost meteor, too
