You can not be interested in it for those reasons that. Desiring for it to fail is simply spiteful. You gain nothing from its failure, and its success won't impact you either.

I don't know why anyone would WANT a Titan version of the character with the compromises it would mean getting it at that size and pricepoint.

If people can stop fighting over a bunch of pieces of plastic and talking down to each other then maybe things can be peaceful and not need moderators coming in having to breakup fights between adults.

 

How many people are going to actually going to play with this piece? This piece is a dust collector, most will open it, play around with it for a few, then display it. Some will buy two, one for bot mode and one for planet mode, both will then spend years collecting dust.

 

Would be nice if he uttered "Destiny! You cannot .... destroy... my... DESTINEEEE!" if you removed his head.

That’s how I’m seeing it. If this project fails, Hasbro will interpret it as the fans not wanting a new Unicron toy. Trying again, whether it be with a downscaled and simplified figure or a new design altogether, would simply be a bad business decision. Nothing communicates lack of consumer interest quite like a failed crowdfund.

There ABSOLUTELY are valid reasons to want this to fail. A couple of you won't admit that - not my problem. It's been explained.

 

For many, it's the only option within our price range.

If you look on tfs' Facebook, you can put a deposit on unicron and have till October to pay it off. The price goes up a little (£20 I think) but you have more time to get the bucks together

I never really "play" with my toys. I'll maneuver them around a bit, display them, change 'em, display 'em again....
I guess the most "play" I do is when I customize. But then I picture myself as Sid from Toy Story.

 

You know, if it falls just shy the goal - say within 1000 or so - I can see Hasbro possibly extending the deadline.

Number one reason I’m choosing not to do it. I think it’s gorgeous and I commend anyone going in for it but it’s too big and it will sit on a shelf. I learned that with my amazon unicron that I got years ago and eventually sold because it sat on a shelf and I didn’t feel like I was appreciating it.

I play with my toys. I wear out joints and paint. If the the paint is rubbing off I don’t get upset because it shows how much I love it.

If this was even leader class then would get it because it means I would play with it. Even my titans sit on shelves for months and I’ve thought about selling those

 

even though i haven't decided whether or not to back this yet, i don't really want it to fail because Unicron is pretty much the holy grail figure in the TF universe, and it would be nice for the fandom to have the opportunity to finally own a decent representation of him...

that having been said, i'd be worried about what kind of precedent that would be set if the project actually does succeed - it has nothing to do with spite (i actually find it weird that there may be people out there who would want this to fail just out of spite), but rather simply not wanting Hasbro (or any 3rd party company observing all this) thinking that there's a market for ridiculously overpriced figures. one need only to look over to the Masterpiece line to realize this is not an impossible scenario.
