I wish Hasbropulse would stock the Battlemasters. I haven't seen Caliburst or Smashdown at any retailers around me.

Finally got to finish Jetfire's Reprolabels. This guy is great.

 

Look...it's Jetfire with some human illness....
On my humble opinion those stickers for Jetfire are a mess....

 

More than entitled to it!  

If this was an MP, I'd leave it alone, but for Generations scale, I prefer to put on Reprolabels.

 

This guy looks pretty good too.


But looks even more stylish now with his new accessory.

I think I gotta agree with you here. Kind of a "too much of a good thing" vibe. Maybe less stickers would have looked better.

I'd probably pass on these ones,I'm much more on Decepticons,but Red Alert has amazing red helmet,is my favorite of 2.

 

My latest figure from the line, Brunt... I mainly wanted it because it reminded me of the Vehicon figures from the Beast Machines line.

Awesome. I plan on just getting one. In my canon, there is only one Refraktor that still somehow transforms into a camera. Did you have to remove any non-weapon parts? (arms, legs, hands, etc)

 

Oh, I'm going to go THERE... Those stickers are outright AWFUL. I'll never understand ToyHax and their business decisions. If they wanted to fill in SOME details on Skyfire, that's fine, but they tried to fill in ALL the details and make him into a figure he's not. (G1 Jetfire.) Maybe's Has/Tak's version is too plain, I'm fair on that, but Reprolabels make him look too busy and force him to be something he's not.

It's like taking an Amish person on Rumspringa and getting them covered in tattoos and then sending them home and acting all like "What?! You don't like it? Well, screw you. This is what we do!"

It's the holostickers for TR all over again. People had to complain incessantly for them to finally give sets that aren't entirely holographic, etc. It shouldn't be that. If you're running a business and want people to buy your product, make a product people want to buy.

Now, that being said, if someone enjoys these stickers for their Skyfire, good for them I think it's great they're enjoying their figure their way and it's never, ever going to be my place to say otherwise. (Nor would I want to.) I just personally see no need for that set for that figure.

 

I have bought some Toyhax kits for some of the Siege figures but mainly for those that come with extra plastic parts. Even so, I don't use all the labels. I'll use some for accents but I do think they overall look worse with all the labels applied.

I think they did a better job with their older kits and not a big fan of slapping sticky paper all over your figures.

 

I agree with a lot of this and as someone who has reprolabeled a lot, I can definitely say that jetfire’s set is a bit much. Toyhax’s Inspiration for their sticker sets is the g1 toys so it’s understandable what that specific set is trying to invoke. It would probably be asking them too much but I’d love if they had done a tiered level with that set. Meaning maybe you only want something a little more basic or cleaner.

 

I don't have any yet, but that's my plan. The only one I think I'm going to use a lot of the stickers is Prowl. But some I don't get at all...stickers to make the tires black? Wouldn't paint be much easier/better?

 

So far I've only labeled the fembots and I think those sets turned out great. Not a lot of stickers at all but still enough to be an improvement. Plus the white sidewall stickers for all the tires was a nice addition.

 

Sooo....I should just post pictures pre-reprolabels from now?  

 

Oh, I'd love for them to do that, but they won't. The only time I can personally think of (I'm sure I'm forgetting more) is the extra windows for Metroplex on the gun/tower in city mode. Those were nice, affordable, and just what a lot of people were looking for.

I've Reprolabeled a lot, myself and I'm turned off by their current quality. For that price, for how it looks when it's done, I need more than for Skyfire to end up looking like a bad G1 Jetfire knockoff, peeling stickers included. I cannot stand that they peel and you actually need their sticker fixer to fix the already expensive and paid for product that doesn't work right out of the box. Anything that fails within months isn't considered a viable product for me, in this manner.

I haven't ordered from them in a good long while because of it. Probably a year? Maybe more? I'm so tired of looking at my figures and seeing these lovely details from afar and then get up close and see it all peeling and falling off like garbage.

I miss the old Reprolabels before they became ToyHax. They were solid, they stuck to the figures like glue, and they were priced properly. Now? One of their staff came here and admitted the inks aren't up to par for the adhesive sheets they use, thus the peeling. Instead of correcting issues with said sets, they just chug along. I certainly hope current sets will now be printed with their supposedly new material. And this Jetfire set is a waste of said material.

In an appreciation thread, such a thing as that set kind of spits in the eye of the spirit of this thread. (Not aimed at the poster, aimed at ToyHax for taking such a nice figure and making ugly as sin.)
