I guess I just don't take myself too overly seriously. I don't care if I spend 600 dollars on a 600 dollar valued item. Then later a third less valuable yet similar, but not the same item, gets made at a third of the cost. At the end of the day I will still have my cherished 600 dollar item that the other collector does not own. I might even purchase the lesser valued item because I might like it. To me that is collecting. If you take it too overly seriously and accept an elitist attitude then you just make yourself miserable. Or you can purchase items that you like, because you like them, and be happy.

Yup. They probably had a week exclusive lead time. I would have thought Hasbro would have done more exclusive news bits with other retailers. EE has an exclusive interview for Cookie Monster. Why not Unicron? No news really isn’t good news. I’m happy to see the last push before the deadline has some marketing power behind it. We need more power, Scotty!

 

I would also just like to buy the head.

You are comparing (27xx/8000) vs (3300/8800). That's wrong, it's that simple. You are taking the numerators from the second line which is correct, but then for Unicron, you are using the number from the first line as the denominator while for the Barge, you are using a number from the third line.

Structure does not matter if you are wrong. There's a reason why the West is just not known for math prowess. And here is one example.

 

This was a big plus for me as well! I dislike partsforming so seeing him put them back in the same place later on was great. But also nice to have the option.

I still think Unicron looks really good, but to me it’s underwhelming because hasbro has barely left the “fold the alt mode to a place where you can’t see it from the front” level of engineering. They should really look at unique toys for inspiration. MPM Jazz is a step in the right direction finally. Transformers should be made of kibble, not just wearing it all as a backpack.

 

I really want this Unicron but it came at such a bad time. Already pre-ordered Snake Mountain, which wasn't cheap.

I am a little surprised that this hasn't at least made it halfway to the goal.

Trick or Treat Studios did a crowd funded Chucky doll, which I purchased, for a little less than Unicron here, and they recently did a second one for a scarred version... Which I passed on. The point I am making is that Chucky is a much smaller community compared to Transformers.

I am curious as to what is preventing ppl from pulling the trigger aside from money. If I had the money, sure, but I don't right now.

Is it because it's not a MP branded item?

 

I am all in for Unicron, I’ve been wearing this shirt around and at conventions since SDCC and have been approached by many people to talk about Unicron. To date, the people who have approached me all enthusiastically support the project. Some people also lament how there has been a sizable amount of negativity online concerning this project. Regardless, I am a big supporter of the project and will keep my fingers crossed that Unicron achieves the minimum order goal.

 

I like everything I see with this Unicron but I'm just not going to buy it.
I have no space for something that big and I can't come up with that much money for toys -not all at once anyway.
And I don't finance my vices.
Either I can pay for it when I get it or I don't get it.

I bought Jetfire and I have Omega Supreme on pre-order.
If I bought Unicron that would be $830 in Transformers in one month.
There's just no way.

 

Since you bring up Snake Mountain, I'd be much more inclined to buy a Unicron head/torso as a playset a la Snake Mountain. As I've stated earlier, this Unicron for me is a one off novelty. One I would't really play around with and would just sit there. Probably my hesitation.

But a playset? Man, I'd love that!
