Yup, that price was my breaking point. Had to get one for the sheer novelty of it.

Got the last one at New Hartford, NY Walmart for that price. Makes a nice desktop bot at work.

it will be release here by next next week.
I'm still 50-50 whether to get it since it doesn't have a trailer.

But funny, I already pre-ordered Tak-Tom 2-pack of G1 OP and SS-38 due out next year.

According to Warden via The Fan expo QNA live stream via Tformers.
Transformers Panel LIVE Stream from 2019 FAN EXPO Canada

The G1 Optimus reissue didn't come with a trailer because apparently the original mold was falling apart and they had to retool it and decided not to include the trailer. Or in other words.

The Beast @ #FanExpoCanada on Twitter
" The Mold for the Trailer wasn't in a condition to use for production"

Edit- he was also asked if lost molds like the G1 Wheeljack and Grimlock molds could be recreated like the dino cassettes.

His answer was basically if fans want them bad enough, yes.

I think the response for Grimlock would be immense. But the idea that window boxes are heading out kind takes some of the wind out of the prospect. If this comes to fruition, I may be tempted more than ever to go KO for vintage packaging.

The G1 Prime trailer mold being in bad shape makes me really sad on some level. RIP venerable mold.

Just so this is clear: when they eventually go out on a limb and do a new mold, you have to pay retail and not wait for clearance

That is disheartening about the trailer mold, but I guess it does make sense especially since Takara is reissuing another Prime (w/ BB Prime) minus his trailer. Would not be quite the same, but I wouldn't have minded if Hasbro had opted to use instead the trailer that was used for the Takara Chronincles box set. It was compatible with both the DOTM deluxe Prime and the included G1 Prime. The only drawback is that probably would have pushed the price up even higher on the shelf

Agreed! The reason the Prime reissue was $50 is that this was a completely new mold as the older one was unusable. If Hasbro does a new mold for Weeljack, Grimlock, Sunstreaker or any new mold, it most likely be a little pricey.

There are 3rd party trailers for other OPs but they are a little big proportionally for G1 re-issue OP: Fansproject G3 trailer and the MP10V trailer. They would need custom adapters regardless.

I have a KO trailer that seems to fit pretty well with the re-issue. It's reasonably close, but of course, the box doesn't work.
