I don't think I'll ever be ordering from @ShowZStore again. they've had it listed as in stock under availability status since the listing went up, was then told it would be ready to ship last week, was then told I'd have a tracking number by friday and still nothing. listing it as in stock was a decietful tactic to get orders first and that kind of selling behavior does not inspire confidence.
Try emailing them. I ordered last week and never received a tracking number. They replied to my email yesterday with the tracking number. Turns out my order was sent out Friday.
Ok. I know they aren't 5 mm ports but does the combined feet have the ports on the bottom like the original? Cause you can double up with the aftermarket feet and make him taller. This is the combiner wars version jic I wasn't clear. But I'm thinking of getting at least 2 ko bots to make him even taller. Tape can make the joint thicker.
Since I don't feel like going over the whole set, I'll focus on what everyone agrees is the most important one - Slag/Slug! Some of the obvious differences between OS Slag and the POTP original (besides just size) include: * Remolded robot chest plate to work with the proportionally smaller combiner peg, and seal up a gap between front and back shells. This makes him look a bit thicker/beefier in robot mode, but whether that's better or not is debatable * All transparent parts replaced with opaque gold, meaning his rear dino legs are gold now, save for some paint apps. Also, those dino feet are metal, which makes the toy feel hefty. The crotch connector is now all black, with no red on front. * Less paint overall with unpainted details, the robot thighs now the same gray as most of him. and the robot head (and neck panel) black plastic rather than gunmetal paint. * Transformation is fine, perhaps a little bit easier than the original. Joints are all nice and stiff, though the metal weight on the legs can still make them sag. Main exceptions are the jaw flap, which moves easily and doesn't have the strong 'stops' on the original mold. The dino horns are also kinda loose, and really easy to knock wonky when handling. * I like the size of him, with the 'limb-dinos' all being nearly nose-to-nose with Classics or Siege voyager Optimus. Not perfect but I'll take it. * I tried to take him apart for possible part swapping. It's worth noting that, while POTP Slag and Sludge are remolds of each other, the KO versions apparently were KO'd separately, as each has subtle mold differences on the 'shared' parts, making part swapping on the upscales less simple than it might initially appear. To give an example. the Slag/Slug KO reworked the hip joints into 2-axis hinges, while Sludge kept them as ball & socket joints! Overall, there are a few changes and differences that are annoying or detrimental (like not keeping a 5mm size for pegs 'n' ports). I'd imagine some wish these Dinobots were either more closely copying the POTP toy colors, or changed them to a cartoon-based scheme. While it could be better, it's still a toy I enjoyed from POTP blown up to something close to the size I wish it was, so I like it.
could you get a measurement of what the hight of volcanicus would be if you use OS limbs with an upgraded normal potp grimlock while using that foot stacking method? (maybe also a picture of that crazy combo?)
Would anyone that has these in hand happen to own the MFT Dinos? Looking for a side by side size comparison.
Sorry for asking without looking at previous posts, but it's 56 pages so I hope you understand. How big are the combiner pegs? I see in the last pages pictures mixing and matching with POTP. Do those use the factory unions or people had them replaced with POTP/CW parts? How big are the limb bots compared to the WeiJiang CW ones? I suppose they are not compatible.
It looks like these figures will need a lot of paint touch ups to add back some of the lost detail. The gold especially looks dull in the pictures. I hope I don't have to repaint all of those parts.
Combiner ports are the same size as official cw figures. Later today I can take a pic of a limb bot with weijiang rook
Thanks. I was thinking of making a combiner of the Cyberverse seekers, with OS Silverbolt as Slipstream and OS Swoop as Thundercracker, Thrust, Acid Storm and Nova Storm. That probably won't work. BUt now I know it may work with regular Silverbolt (or Cyclonus, who has a better base color). While we are here, may I request a size comparison in leg mode? If possible, with a Hasbro CW leg next to them? Thanks again.
