I can’t quite put my finger on it, but as much as I love OG 36, this + version just hits in all the right spots. I remember when I opened it how shocked I was that same same mold could be so similar, yet so different. And the gun mode - just wow!!

If this goes on sale for Black Friday at BBTS, I’ll definitely pull the trigger (pun intended) on this. Too good a homage to pass up.

 

Update: he arrived yesterday! Super fast shipping that was a surprise, a welcomed one at that.
Between “nesting” , son’s homework, termite inspection, didn’t have a chance to even open the shipper. More of the same today, might have to wait for the weekend :/

I’m definitely loving MP-36+. Though, for this shelf I did cheat and use the standard version’s energy flail and box. The chrome is excellent and the tampo details of the original stickers are magnificent.

 

I do wish he had the flail. Like the G1 reissue version. Perhaps in a darker purple. It’s such a great accessory. Can you buy KO’s of it online?

 

I dunno if you can get them individually, but that would be awesome. It’s rather bothersome that the + version didn’t include all the accessories the standard version did.

 

It’d also cost less instead of modifying the moulds to have less plastic.

 

I'm impatiently waiting for mine. Can someone please let me know about the plug?

 

Got mine from BBTS, so it had the plug. It was a pain to remove, but if you’re careful and go slow you’ll be fine.

Some tips

I would recommend some channel lock pliers with good teeth so you can get a solid purchase on the plug itself.

Don’t hold it in a manner that puts extra leverage or pressure on pivot points. Move limbs out of the way and hold on to the barrel itself.

Use gentle heat from a hair dryer or hot water from the tap, and go in slow twisting motions to break the glue loose. The glue itself was like a rubber cement or E6000 type glue.
