Their Lockdown is also too tall to scale with their Prime. Lockdown is 22 feet and Optimus is 28, and the figures are 25 and 27cm.

Lockdown was like, the most inconsistent character of all with his height though, so I think that one's excusable.

I do wish they at least shrunk him a bit so his car mode wasn't so huge next to other carbots though.

Am I missing something? I thought he was about 40 cm with the wingspan. No way that is the robot height!

I'm pretty sure his height only seemed inconsistent because of different camera angles.

The car mode is my biggest issue with him. He looks too big for the MPMs in carmode. Pretty good size for Human Alliance though.

You are getting it wrong, dude.

UT-R03 is 31cm tall in robot mode.

    The jet mode is 43.5 x 42.

Exactly this. If the bot mode is THAT inconsistent (I think mostly it's fine in the movies, but Lockdown did seem to change often, plus getting a 22ft bot out of a car simply requires mass shifting) then they should have gone with a good car mode size, bot mode size be damned.

I actually hope they redo PK at some point. If he had better proportions and better sculpting I'd definitely buy again.

So mass shifting really does exist. Neat. Also, if u look at tlk megs transformation, he basically goes from massive jet to tiny robot

That was the laziest transformation in any of the movies. I'd rather see the AOE Janemba transformation.

Thanks fro the clarification, well, that's much better at least, but he does looks off with Challenger IMO, then again, it's not like i care so much about the scale.

Whoawhoawhoa let's not say things we can't take back! Aoe had the worst transformations in the entire series except for a handful.

I'd say the worst transformations were all of Optimus Prime's in TLK.......

I'm guessing this is a joke, to my memory (and I'm one of those rare few who like TLK) Prime never transformed on screen, i think his alt mode was only seen once.

    Hence the irony.
TLK like all the other Bay movies was difficult to watch but the few scenes where Megatron transforms were better than the pixel-salad nonesence that was used for AOE.

It would be great to see a cleaner Galvatron that didn't just Jack-in-the-box it's way to bot mode. That's another reason why UT's black magic invertibots are wicked!

I guess I'm the only one who liked the particle disintegration/reformation transformations from Age of Extinction...

What did bother me with the transformations in AoE was the normal Cybertronians and the complete disconnect between the robot and alternate modes with nothing to follow during transformation like the earlier movies. Like, '07 Optimus' first transformation, you watch as the majority of the truck reconfigures itself to conform to the robot body; meanwhile Optimus' first transformation in his Knight body, the truck just breaks into shards and the mechanical parts of the robot fly around in a blur as the truck fragments dissapear into the body or offscreen entirely.

Really, it's all the character designs' faults though. With no vehicle kibble to provide continuity between the two modes, it doesn't just make toys harder to design, it also leads to lame CGI blur transformation scenes, and also fails to visually communicate the Transformers aspect of the characters. At the very least, a decent amount of these designs that refuse to use vehicle kibble have some neat style to their design. Like TLK Megatron here, it's still really frustrating that there's little that implies he's a jet, but he does make for a really cool spin on Megs. That and the insane engineering on these UT figures is what makes them worthwhile.

looks like his sword is combined from 2 pieces when transforming from alt to bot mode.

I didn't mind it in a Kreo vs Transformer kinda way. The vehicle completely disappearing I can see it as 1 part lazy design, 1 part more awesome and kinda logical (a "real" transformer wouldn't need large chunks hanging around like toys). That said I do like the nice in between black magic UT's designer figured out.

To be fair, all of the figures that UT has done so far have solid chests where they store a majority of the vehicle. Galvatron has a hole through his chest making it significantly harder to store parts in there.
