My GX-71 just hit my PoL also. Now I just want to see if I need to add anything else to the order...

I thought about that...then I considered the possibility of other items bumping into the Voltron box during shipment and denting or scratching it. Maybe I'm just being a pussy about it, though.

    Hello everyone,

I'd like to start off that I have always enjoyed Voltron quite a bit but Transformers has always been my main hobby.
I really wanted to have a good representation of him in my collection but because he wasnt in my focus and I missed out on the first run of GX-71 and there was no way I was paying ebay prices for one. Fast forward I once again initially missed out on the second run witch I was upset about.
I decided to keep a BBTS page up and refreshed it every so often and finally a week ago one came available and needless to say I snagged it at the $299. price luckily.
Long story short(to late I know) why exactly is this thing so insanely priced outside of retail. Does Voltron really have that massive of a following? This will be my first Soul of Chogokin figure as well, does that have a lot to do with it?

Got my BBTS notice too. Woohooo! I can't believe I will finally own this figure.

I would say this SOC is the definitive Voltron toy for collectors who watched this show in the 80s or reruns or the new show and owned the toys over the years. I remember standing in front of a window display as a kid in NY wishing I could own a die-cast Bandai Voltron.

    Also DP is a fan...

First off, congrats on being able to get one of these at MSRP! The POs seemed to dry up really quickly. I got lucky and got one during BBTS's second round of POs.

I'm just guessing at some of this...but I'm sure others will have things to add. From what I understand, SOC Voltron is one of the better/best SOC figures out there. And that's saying a lot. I only have a couple of SOCs at this point, but from my experience, they are simply on a whole other level from most other robot figures...most MP TFs don't even compare. Given the strong nostalgic connection a lot of people have to Voltron (me included), the near-perfection of this figure and the relatively low production numbers, and you have a perfect storm of desirability for this product.

EDIT: Paypal payment to BBTS just went through!!!

Unless the box is something spectacular, I just throw it away anyway.

That's fair if it's good for Deadpool how can you go wrong.
I guess it's just something I'll have to experience when I receive it. I have watch a couple of reviews and its certainly praised in them but as nice as it looks It doesn't look like anything mindblowing. Its certainly a looker but at 300. I was suprised by the limitations on articulation in combined mode. Admittedly I'll put it in a good pose and place it on a shelf like the rest of my Transformers MP and 3P but the idea of super poseability

Part of the appeal of SOCs is how they feel in your hand, honestly. And on the bright side, if you decide it isn't for you, you can always sell it and recoup all of your money!

The box is spectacular! And, it's a great way to store the shit-ton of accessories he comes with.

Oh no doubt ots nice to know it's a desirable pice but that wasnt my goal for purchasing it. I can honestly tell ots the best Voltron to have as far as shelf presence and that's worth so much more. Cant wait to see if it lives up to the hype in hand.

Payment processed, now on to wait to whenever BBTS decides to ship this for $4.

I’m thinking 2 weeks. This and MP-44 are sure going to make this one hell of a way to say good bye to an amazing summer.

I saw this posted on BBTS.

Funny, I've got my Titan Power Voltron with his massive feet and seeing the SOC with the normal feet looks weird now. lol :lol

Why not buy it off of an earlier poster that is getting 2 but only needs one?

I'm happy that GX-71 got re-issued but too bad I can't get one.
I'm not the type who can put out such huge amount of money (SOC Money) at one go.

If SOCs are available in B&M toy stores they could offer me a payment via credit card installment of 6 months with zero interests.
