I think it'd be easier to list the ones I don't care for, I'm pretty easy to please and I enjoyed most of the characters in the show. But if I had to narrow it down, I'd have to go with Bee, Sideswipe, Prowl and Prime for the Autobots, Soundwave, Shockwave and Skywarp for the Decepticons

Ironhide. Without question. An absolutely phenomenal character.

His design is simple, yet classic and iconic. He had all kinds of unique abilites, and had some extremely memorable moments throughout the show. His personality was a definitive portrayal of his character archetype, and his close friendship with Optimus was one of the best aspects of the first two seasons of G1.

    Star Saber (Victory)

As a kid, three way tie between Cosmos, Tracks, and Overdrive.

The standout episode for Ironhide in my book is The Immobilizer, where he comes to feel useless and retires. It felt like real drama for him instead of a contrived cartoon plot point. I like the parts where he’s giving Carly a tour of the base. I think there’s a moment where he smiles while talking to her, which is the first time in the ep he started to feel like his old self again. And then at the end as Spike & Carly are driving away & Ironhide’s been hit with the Immobilizer. He’s just standing their frozen waving goodbye. That image of him always stuck with me. And even though they saved him, it almost felt like a character death moment. One of G1’s best episodes.

Oh, I 100% agree. That was really the episode that made me an Ironhide fan.

Prowl. He was voiced by Michael Bell, his Action Master got a TON of play time when I was younger, and I liked how his character sounded in his original bio.

Hot Rod and Bumblebee (we're talking G1 right?) aren't far behind on the list though.

    Minerva.
Medics are my favorite type of bots, and she has such a odd curvy design, it’s great.

    Star Saber

    And God Ginrai.
If only the Legends one wasn’t so fat.

Prowl primarily due to original tech spec and his portrayal in Marvel. Seaspray would be a close second because of his voice.

Impossible, there are so many. I like Furman's Nightbeat, Dreamwave Prowl, Sunbow Silverbolt, Bumblebee, Skyfire, Omega.. I think Ill go with Grimlock, the Marvel version is badass and the Sunbow one badass but funny.

    Wheeljack.

I just loved his personality. Brilliant but something of a madman. He played an important and fun role that I related to. He brought a lot to that ensemble cast. No one quite like him. I was always happy to see he was in this one.

Beachcomber would be my favorite, followed by Grimlock and the Dinobots, Punch-Counterpunch, Jetfire/Skyfire, Cosmos, and Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime in no particular order. I like the post-1984 characters more in general.

My favorite 1984 Autobot would be Mirage. He plays a great role at the end of the three-part pilot, he has a great ability, and I enjoy how Cliffjumper is suspicious of him. Probably followed by Wheeljack.

Hot Rod and Springer, for their sense of humor in tough situations.
Tracks and Sunstreaker because they're both kinda assholes.
Sideswipe because he's only a little bit of an asshole, and at more appropriate times than Tracks and Sunstreaker.
