Sunstreaker is a fantastic bot, but is anyone else's just randomly cracking in spots? The inner leg flaps on mine are splitting at the hinge, and the areas right above the taillights are cracking. I hardly touch him. This is happening while he's in robot mode on a shelf...

Mine's not cracking, but the paint is chipping pretty sporadicly (hands are the worst), plus that damn thigh ratchet is busted. I'll have to pick up a second copy at some point, hopefully the paint will be more durable. There's just a few other 'first' copies I want to pick up before then (Inferno is high on my to-buy list!)

Hell yeah. Love the poses. A new Sideswipe would make me buy another pristine Sunstreaker to go alongside him so fast.

Hot Rod in The Ark - I dig it!

Yup, I have the exact same issues. I ended up filing down the hinge on that leg flap so it would stop putting as much stress on the joint.

It really pisses me off because he is one of my favorite MPs! I'm honestly debating buying the KO for the spare parts...

I don't blame you, and that's your call - after all, you've already invested the money into TT's product. Dunno how backwards compatible everything will be with the KO, though.
Oh I also forgot that the little tab that locks his lower legs together got worn out/chipped really fast on one of my legs, so it doesn't all tab together nice and tight as it should.

Still love messing with him, though! There's a certain freedom to a slightly chipped or damaged figure - once that first scratch is on there, I'm a lot less worried about adding some more :lol

I'm in on the new Prime, already preordered and paid :)  I'm skipping Bumblebee and Hound. I don't want to double dip, so that's reserved for my absolute favorites. As to Hound I got Fans Toys version as a present from my wife so there's also sentimental value included. However, if they do a toy version (like the one @chchchch did in the relevant thread) then I'll probably bite. However, I am eagerly anticipating the reviews (and subsequent attempts at not getting them ;)  ).

EDIT: Thanks for point out the intakes, corrected ;)

Mine cracked, but that was me being an idiot. More info here: Center punch damage to MP-39 I recommend the wise words @Dean ML and @Cyclonus79 offer in that thread. Luckily, I managed to glue him back, and tighten with Future (well, the European equivalent). The one you see on the picture is the one that I damaged.

Jumping on the bandwagon of love for MP-39. I think Sunstreaker set the new standards that we highly expect with forthcoming MP-44, 45, 47

The knees are one point. Really, the only thing I greatly dislike about the figure is the large gab in the back kibble. I've kinda gotten over it a good bit though. But still.

At the risk of further beating a dead horse, I gotta throw my hat in for Sunstreaker as well. Not even one of my favorite characters, but the MP imbues him with such personality and a silhouette that is both true to the animation but somehow also heightened in coolness.

I'm always amazed at how panelly he looks in photos (particularly Takara's stock photos) because that all just disappears in hand, somehow. I can't wait to have an army of carbots executed at this level.

And he's the only one who can semi-convincingly cross his arms! (Sorry for recycling old photo here ;)  )

Love the homage to Magnus' crew from the deleted Movie storyboards!

And great assessment of Sunstreaker! He was a bit of a nobody to me until his MP. Now when I rewatch the show he stands out (on the oft chance he shows up!). I know Hound will have the same effect on me!

Haha thanks but I didn't even know I was doing that! I'll have to look up that storyboard now :lol  :lol  :lol  But yep, MPs had the same effect on me for Sunstreaker, and Grapple too.

Well, Hot Rod's not in it, it was Tracks, Sideswipe, and Red Alert, with Red Alert getting shot down by the Constructicons...

I did a shoddy homage to the beginning of it a while back (pre Sideswipe+). Would love to see @OptimusTimelord try to animate it someday!

Whoa, I'd never seen that particular sequence! I guess it just happened to be the same cars I had available :lol  Your reconstruction is plenty great though, I can feel the action and movement from it!

Thanks, man, wish I could've done it better! Even more, I wish that scene had been animated. So great we have cartoon accurate figures to let us fill in those gaps!

You've done awesome approximating folded arms there. Was just trying to do that with him last night. Sunstreaker's been my deskbot for the past 24 hours thanks to this thread, despite the little flaws mine has I still love him! I may have to pick up that second copy when Hound gets here just to recreate the shuttle landing, though I'll never be able to recreate it like @Agent 539 now can.

Choosing Hot Rod as the other bot in your shot was a great reference to the movie, though @chchchch. You must be connected to the original movie script on a subconscious level :lol
Yes would love to see @OptimusTimelord recreate that, but you've gone a smashing job Dean! Maybe wait until we get a 25+ to try it again with 12+ too (if we do get that Tracks repaint).

Agreed about Sunstreaker's awesome toy making me pay more attention to the character while rewatching the show. Kinda wish I had Inferno already so I could enjoy him that way, though knowing he has such an awesome toy is already making me notice him more.

Aw thanks man, the arm crossing is also pretty camera angle dependent, I'm not sure it looks as convincing from the front since you can't really hide the underneath hand completely!

Ha, maybe I read about that cut scene and forgot about it, but it seeped into my subconscious! My only principle was: pick sporty cars that Sunstreaker might be secretly jealous of :lol

Man, if I were Sunstreaker I would be totally jealous of Hot Rod’s...well, hot rod mode!
